Killing Floor 2 officially announced!

The Commando can deal with basically everything. You can kill Scrakes fairly easy if you focus on the head. The Fleshpounds are even easier if you don't mess up the damage limit until his rage. I'm not sure if there's a(n) (easy) way to kill the 6 players Patriarch but if you play solo the Patriarch isn't too difficult to kill with the SCAR and the FAL.

True that, but doing those things as 'mando is inefficient as hell and perks like sharpie are millions of times better at it by default, while the mando is millions of times better at the crowd control than the sharpie. That's how the roles get defined, just because perk A can do something that perk B does doesn't necessarily make it perk A's job. Everyone can heal teammates, but we're not all medics, are we?

Though a good way to deal with 6p Patty as Commando is to make all your friends also go Commando. People will die, but holy damn it sure works.

Of course it's inefficient. Every perk has their advantages and disadvantages which is a good reason to have different perks in a team but you can still do everything if you just stick to the advantages of your perk and don't play too risky.

On a 6 players Patriarch it almost doesn't matter which perk you're going to use as far as I experienced it. The most common wipe out is caused by splitting up / no concentrating fire in a specific time / medics not tanking blablabla....
In the end it's just about team play and how everybody knows their role in the team.

And that's what has to be watched in balance - certain perks are given too much room to still be efficient with just about everything.

Perks should be about roles, balance fails the hardest when they're thought of as play styles.
I remember when the two OP perks were Suppie and Sharpie. Either one could buttwreck everything because both perks had an arsenal that allowed them to deal with both main classes of zed very easily including Patty, making specialisation unecessary and potentially dangerous.

John,

I believe the upload file size it's 200mb max. I've been in talks with Jared off and on for a while about this. And I am uploading files old school to ftp right now, but the point was to make WS work for the game so people can use it properly.

Wolf,

Please PM me your issues as I don't want to derail the release thread with RO2 discussion. And your right I forgot it was 200MB, which we actually got Valve to add because of RO2 (originally it was 100MB). Your message just made it sound like you've been sitting on maps for 3 years because SWS was preventing you from releasing them, and my point was you can get maps to players other ways, but we're also willing to work with you to sort your issues with SWS.

Thanks,

John

Why would anyone want a crossover of any kind?

I remember how the TF2 crossover affected the playerbase. It was almost impossible to get into a good pub game for a good while because of the people it brought in. A bunch of people who could never seem to accept the fact that they weren't playing a game that used TF2's rules, all whilst populating servers with a downright cartoonish Pyro.

I'd rather see TWI spend their time, money, and resources on making one really cool original character they came up with by themselves that we can all fall in love with (like when they first did the character packs), characters built to suit a gory, dark, techno-post-apoc horror game, rather than add in some silly-looking disco clown quartet from some other game.

Well that's your opinion Gibby. I think it wouldn't be that far off having some experienced bank robbers (and cop killers mind you (would be interseting to see them alongside law enforcers)) in the zed apocalypse. A really run down bank map would be great. I liked the TF2 crossover, because with the masks and all that I thought it fit well.

Whatever, TWI will either take note of request or more likely ignore it, I can mention it if I like.
