What about all the jerks?

Unfortunately this morning, I probably had the most immature, pathetic, worst experience on a server since I first started playing RO 1 on the day it was released. I believe (not 100% sure) that is was an official TWI Realism server.

Anyway, constant spamming of the text chat about porn, sex with parents, hiding things in orifices, encouragements to TK everyone, racial and sexual slurs and overall rudeness in general. I could go on and on, but you get the idea.

Luckily up until now, I really hadn't encountered this much at all.

I can honestly say, that if this was the average maturity level of the players in ROHOS, I would rarely play it no matter how good the game actually is.

OK, with that said, does anyone know of a thread or a topic that has been started where there will be a list of servers that will generally be well admined?

I'm really concerned with the lack of team play and the general arguing and the use of racist, sexist and homophobic slurs that people seem to be using, I assume the players doing this will eventually leave but at the moment I don't really feel like playing the game as much as I do RO:OST which is a shame as the game itself seems really good.

You're missing the point :p

The general maturity level of old RO veterans and what they are used to is well above the level of what most other games have. Indeed, that was also part of the charm of the game for me and probably others... less idiots. Episodes like some people are describing were exceptionally rare with the first game and way less severe, maybe one or two players and not half of those on the server.

And yeah, I read the chat because as a team player (like many old RO vets are), you are looking for game related info such as orders, where to move, etc.

No I fully understand the point, but this is not 5 years ago, and it seems like old people crying that young people are mocking them - not very mature.

Show your maturity and rise above it, laugh at the "u mad?" idiots, then shoot them, don't come to the forums crying about something that happens in literally every online fps at the moment.

Also this ^^

this is what they want, people saying you would never say that to my face irl, it is a ridiculous thing to say, it shows how mad you are and also stupid cos if they did say it to your face irl you wouldn't do anything about it.

Everybody is the hardest man in the world when hiding behind their keyboard.

Just laugh at them, kill them over and over with your ro1 vet skills, and then at the end repeat what they said to you back at them, followed with a u mad.

That is how you beat them.

If it were only players quoting rage comics, but its not :p

I really don't feel I need to go around teamkilling players because of the things they are spamming, so that isn't even a suggestion.

Again, I ask, if there are any topics started that may list servers that would normally be well admined? :D

Not yet, Moe.

I once made a topic in the Suggestions subforum, for a new subforum, where server admins or communities can advertise their servers with all the custom settings (if they use any), so we can easily find server for our likeing, but sadly no mod had replied.

I think it will get better once we hit retail with more admins being present.
Right now you can try to start a kickvote or simply ignoring them, or if it gets really bad just leave to another server.

You know, back in my day, we used to do less talk, and more arse'kickin on the battlefield, with a good club in the eye with one of these.

That'd shut them all up real good.

That's right fellas.... leave the fighting on the ice and drop the gloves there.

Less talky, more shooty.

Oh, and hug a rainbow or something, jeez

Good lord, it's almost appalling right now. You've got people who won't go near anything beyond the first free objective and play like their KDR matters, and all of them boasts a gigantic ego and insurmountable rage.

Random member: "Nice shot"
Me: "Ah, RO. The only game where people commend each other on their prowess."
Another random: "HURR **** U MAN"

Throw into the mix mic spammers and people raging over TK/TKing on purpose, and you've got a great server community (not saying anyone actually WANTS to harbor these types).

I'd say it's the only bad thing about the beta right now.

What a bunch of BS.

No, the answer isn't "just shoot them, be better than them".. Sometimes you can, sometimes you can't. There are all range of skills in this game and you can't be better than everybody. The point is, something that ruins the experience for other players is wrong, period. RO pushes realism more than most games and even hosts realism servers. What ruins the immersion more than some punk insulting everyone and spamming the chat, both text and audio?

Nor is it any answer to "just ignore the chat, there is nothing meaningful there anyway.". Well I do understand this suggestion, and I follow it sometimes, but there really *should be* meaningful info in the chat. I post things like "enemy snipe on second floor workers building," things like that. If the team doesn't communicate at all, you're screwed.

I know there is no simple solution, but given that this behavior isn't the norm on RO1 servers (it happens there, it just seems more rare), it is more than fair to come here and b*tch about it, imho.

It utterly annoyed me in Ostfront where the community was more mature, so I disabled chat (by reducing the text lines to 0 in the options)

I'm not in the beta so I'm gonna ask: Is it possible to do this in RO2? Cause I'm pretty sure thats the first thing I'm gonna do after installing the game.
