I am afraid I have seen some pretty poor behaviour myself this past week. Not only people new to the RO community but some I have seen playing Ostfront in the past.
As someone has already said, this did happen on the release of Ostfront but quickly died down. When that happens and everyone is playing the game properly I hope we get a slow influx of new players who will see that team work and politeness will benefit them and those around them.

Nearly time to leave work - can anyone nominate a good server to jump on tonight? I am in the UK. Thanks in advance

i pay people back for stupid or deliberate tks, and if you stand in front of me or crowd me im going to bash your head in till you learn to step back and give me my room to work. alot of cod player are getting head smashed because they don't know how ro1 players play.

I lost my temper last night after I got tk'ed for the umpteenth time on Red October. I hope that guy understood I wasn't cursing specifically at him, but just at everyone...

Btw, wasn't me, I didnt tk anyone in Red October . Actually had a few good snipes on that map, which was nice after I was terrible in Barracks.

I HATE people who act hostile/aggressive to others. Especially when for all the wrong reasons. In this game I can't keep up with the messages, not even a little. It's all a concert of spam of all kinds of stuff going on. Orders. Several server messages that are spammed thousands of times (never ends) over and over and over. And people typing random things. I simply can't see what hostile stuff they write. A few times I caught someone writing "gay camper" at me. I ignored it and forgot about it as I blew away more of his team mates.

I want to disable the white lower-left messages on the UI - completely. It's garbage and it is distracting.

My thoughts too.

I made a magnificent bolt action shot across the Fallenfighters map at the spot where you get the enemy doing the same to you. There was a slight movement of a couple of pixels in a darkened window frame. Bam! Teamkill. A single lonewolf had made it all that way. He was so far away, literally just a shadow, no name above, nothing.

Oh well. Awesome shot anyhow. I apologized straight away. His reply?

"Open your eyes FFS."

Forgive me for not identifying a couple of pixels at about a half mile in a darkened room. Lol.

I would suggest the old gits one as best one i've gone on. But best time is after 7/8 as before hand a lot of kiddies and team kills.

@Carnster i've had that a few times now, i just ignore those who are like that really.

Carnster: lol, I'm guessing FFS doesn't mean "for Fuhrer's sake"... . It's almost impossible at range to know for sure. I've been on both sides of that problem. A few times I've gotten pretty deep into enemy lines and been tk'd, and all I can think is "(curse!) it took me soo long to get here!". But then I remember that if I didn't communicate my position, it's really my fault, not the shooter's. I was exactly where the shooter thought the enemy would be.

Chris89: do you mean "Old Farts" server? Or maybe I just haven't heard of old gits, I still don't know the servers that well. I played on the Old Farts RO-Ost server a bit recently and really enjoyed it. They used some great modded maps and were mostly really friendly. Tough to beat, too, when the OF guys teamed up on one side

The biggest jerk I have encountered so far was some douchebag in my own team.

First he blew me up by dropping a grenade next to me.
His comment was a simple "LOL"

And one round later, I was lying in some factory shooting at an enemy, when he suddenly stood up and decided to run into my line of fire.

Of course he died instantly and started calling me a noob and a failed existance...

that is how we play, we play smart and dumb *** cod players run around in front of mgs and stand in windows blocking the guy who was covering that window. we ro1 players know who is friend and who is foe just by the color of the uniform not who is shooting in your general direction. but if you want to side with the cod crowd go ahead.

This thread is of no real importance, just a vanity

After playing for awhile yesterday, I'm guessing we have a full blown jerk invasion into RO.. Or maybe because it was a holiday, a bunch of schoolkids were able to play.

Seriously... First map i get into, my squad leader was having it out with some guy who thought he wasn't using the mortars right. There were all sorts of sex-with-your-mom comments and stupidity going on forever and ever, to the point that people were saying "guys can we just play?" and then finally, people just leaving.

Then, I get into Grain Elevator for the first time. I have to admit, I was a bit overwhelmed (the map is awesome, but complex at first). I was shooting down a stairwell at a Russian when a teammate popped into the frame, bam, teamkill. Before I could say anything, I get "you stupid idiot." nice. Guess there is no need to apologize at that point, is there?

So next I play barracks, I'm upstairs moving from room to room and i get teamkilled by someone, on the run, hipshooting. No big deal. Believe me, I am a forgiving person. But before I can even type "np", I get "thanks for running in front of me."

Wow. Really.

This kind of crap went on all day. I'm going to start taking notes on servers and stuff so I know which ones to avoid I guess, but so far, they all seem like daycare.

Wow, I know what you mean. I much as I LOVED RO, I got so very tired of all the comments, insults, and so forth. I started playing MOH online adn it does not allow that type of crap and it is SO much more enjoyable. Try it. And by the way I am very bummed that Heroes of Stalin is not better. I had hoped for so much more.

As others have said, its pretty inevitable. Give it ~2 months, by when most of these players will have switched to BF3/MW3, and the community should be a lot better.

such as
"why didn't the dwarves just dig the hobbits to mordor"

while some sort of hardcore fan explained the series in detail
mentioning Tolkien's hidden messages relating to the real world such as
"Being lost in diaspora - the dwarves are much like the Israelites - preserving their culture with no real home"

haha most likely i mostly just join the servers that my friends are playing. But have favourited that one.
