KF Those weapons nobody uses

I think everyone's aware of the weapons nobody ever buys, and why. What's the point of having something coded in the game if nobody ever uses it? This thread is to ask TWI to buff these weapons or make them cheaper, so that we start seeing more of them in-game. Please add your support!

1) Chainsaw - totally useless, NEVER bought by anyone. Absolutely requires a buff (discounts won't work since most Zerks would rather have Axe or Katana, so there must be some good reason to get them to use this).
2) M99 AMR - somewhat useful, occasionally some people buy it just for coolness. However, the ammo is too expensive for the highest difficulty levels, which is the only niche the gun can serve. M99 definitely has no place in easier difficulties, where Xbow can do everything it does. A buff might be in order if ammo price is not negotiable (at least 1 shot FP at 6-man Hard). Alternately, maybe replace the ammo with the explosive/incendiary Raufoss round, maybe the added kaboom and afterburn effect could justify the high ammo cost.
3) M4 - every Commando I met prefers AK to M4. However, I think it's actually just right for it's price and function. Suggestion is not to buff or discount, but lighten the M4 to 5 blocks so that some people will use it just for the weight saving. Either that, or make Level 6 Commando spawn with Body Armor and M4, instead of AK. If they really want an AK, they can always buy one later. (Also, it doesn't make sense why Her Majesty's Commandos would spawn with a Russian gun????)
4) M4+M203 - good gun but too expensive, so nobody buys it. It's actually one of the few dual-perk guns, which makes for more interesting gameplay. Suggest at least a discount, or give Commando damage perks to the M4 portion, so that it is more useful off-perk. (Currently it only gets mag-size and recoil perks when used by Commando.)
5) Combat Shotgun - why in the world does this reload slower than the standard Shotgun???? If the reload was same speed, it would make perfect sense. As it is, the KSG is far better and cheaper, so no one ever buys this.
6) Vlad - doesn't do enough damage, yet works essentially the same like any of the other shotguns. Suggest tripling the current mag size, to give it a totally different feel (kinda like a cheap AA12).
7) ZED thrower - never used it coz I don't have the DLC, but it must suck bad if no one ever buys one.
8) Huskgun - apparently most FB's find Dual Flares to be better than the most expensive gun in their arsenal. This just ain't right. Considering the cost and inconvenience of charging up, this gun should instant-kill SC even at HoE!

1) I love chainsaw but overall it's inferior to basically every other option for zerker - but definitely not useless. Although I will say I used it much more when I spawned with it.

2) Agreed - M99 is too expensive to be used for anything beyond Patty wave if you have the dosh to burn.

3) M4 on Semi auto is pretty sweet on perk... I'm a big fan of the scope. I usually mix it up between this and bullpup in early waves.

4) M4203 - broken beyond repair. This weapon could be removed and it would not have any impact on my gaming experience.

5) Combat Shotgun doesn't reload any slower/faster than the standard pump shottie from what I can tell - and it's not supposed to as far as I am aware. It's a combat shottie due to how quickly it unloads its shells. I like it, personally.

6/7) Zed Thrower/Vlad are both only really useful for goofing around and I surprisingly see pretty many people using Vlad - if you get good at the bounce angles with scrakes it's pretty viable. I never bothered learning though..

8) Huskgun is actually pretty badass... I prefer the flamethrower in general, but the ability to stun scrakes and never have to concern yourself with reloading is a nice benefit for any gun with this type of damage potential.

1) You've never played on normal, right? :D But seriously, I agree. Almost no one uses it. It can be quite fun though to use it as Support for derpy uppers.

2) M99 is fine as it is. People usually only buy it on pat. If you keep on picking up those ammo boxes and your main rule isn't killing the trash, you can sustain the weapon on your own, without anyone giving you any cash. Just keep in mind 1x bang = 250 Dosh, aim carefully.

3) The M4 isnt't that bad after all. I actually prefer the sights of the M4 over the AK one. If this game was all about the queens arsenal, probably 90% (if not more) of the guns shouldn't be in there.

4) If you're a Demo that has to take care of a little bit of trash, the M4+M203 can be a good choice. Usually that isn't the case so no one uses that gun or simply goes with a sidearm like hc or mk23. It is quite fun to use as commando though, annoying your teammates with plenty of spam and smoke.

5) Yes it reloads slow but on the other hand, it is fairly strong. The reload is what keeps the CSG balanced. It is simply not true that no one buys the CSG, I know quite a few people who use it very efficiently.

6) The Vlad has the fastest reload speed of all shotguns. Also the "nails" bounce which can be quite useful under certain circumstances. Still you're right, no one really uses it. Increasing the mag size by three times is a bit too much imo. Maybe two times of the original mag size could work. I'd rather increase the damage a bit and leave any other part alone.

7) It is an average shotgun. That's about it. I think the reason why most players ignore it is the fact, that it "feels" weak. The sound of it makes you think that you're using a cheap air pressure nerf gun. Still, I don't think it needs any buff. For the price it#s an "okay" gun.

8) Try dual flares + Husk or try it offperk as Support. It stuns Scrakes offperk at long range, does not need any reload for single shots, has quite a lot ammo (onperk). It is a very strong weapon imo and does not any buff. The reason why not a lot people use it is because most of them just go for a flamethrower + dual flares.... because who needs to aim?

You're missing out the new DLC weapons though. I don't see them much ingame either. The seeker for trolling, the baby zed for surviving pub badness, the bloat gun for derp and the harpoon.... yeah, don't have to say much about that. Also, the .44 is kinda obsolete since the hc got reduced to 2 blocks.

I sometimes use the CSG, Huskgun and M4. `~`

Edit; In fact, the next time I go supp, I may try a loadout of CSG, Huskgun and M4. =3

Hiding from Drop Bears; Aus
I use these weapons...
1.) A buff would be nice, so that it could at least stun a Scrake from the front.
2.) Nope. Just... just no. Remove gun pls TWI.
3.) The M4 gets a fair amount of usuage, and is perfectly fine the way it is. Also, suddenly changing the Commando's spawn weapon to force it down people's throats is not the way to go. Some Commandos like AK and Bullpup; some like the Scar and Fal. I doubt giving this weapon any buffs or making it a spawn weapon will change this. Just leave it as is. Next!
4.) Oh... the M4-203... HAHAHAHA... it needs a minor buff to its damage (headshot only?), and a recoil reduction when used as a demo. It will still be a horrible weapon made only for offperk blunt headshots against Scrakes as a Sharpshooter though.
5.) Combat is fine. A great weapon, with an insane damage output. Works well with offperk weapons.
6.) Really good in small areas for dealing with Crawlers/Stalkers. It can also 2-3 shot Scrakes. A minor damage buff wouldn't go awry though.
7.) Bad gun is bad, but really good for derping Zeds and combos (if you are good enough (I'm not)).
8.) No... just no. The Husk Cannon can 2 shot Scrakes as a Firebug, and can be used to great effect offperk due to the fact that a charged shot will always stun (really good for Commando/Support).

Welcome to the world of videogames, where everyone only uses the popular things.

- Chainsaw is useless straigh up. First-time noobs buy it...cause you know, whats the 1st melee weapon everyone whould use in a zombie apocalypse?
- M99 is fine, maybe they should lower the price by a tiny bit.
- Both of the M4s are also useless. I tell new players to sell that **** if they buy it.
(Only semi-good thing about the M4203 is the sexy reload bug that has been here since god knows when.)
- Combat Shotty is in a useless predicament, but that doesnt mean its a bad weapon. Its one of those in-between weapons like the Broken Pipe in the mod, why have the middle when its better picking one of the other 2?
- Vlad is more used then that ****ty ZED Thrower. Players dont tend to use the Vlad (Or other support weapons) since they rather have the spammable god-like AA12. Something really has to be done to that weapon.
- ZED thrower is ****.
- Huskgun doesnt do fast kills, which is a must for the killwhores known as Firebugs.

Over here, no not there, here.
The information I've found has never said that vlad actually does less damage. Zedthrower on the other hand, does even less damage than the AA12, but I love the look and sound of the thing.
But yeah, some of these need seriouss fixness.
I also think people should stop proposing that guns be removed because it's a waste of hard work and is a bit irrational.

Chainsaw - well, using it strips zerks of their extra speed, so they no longer can run around the corner from a fleshpound they raged and leave their teammates to die, so it's not that popular...

in all seriousness though, who would carry a piece of junk that slows you down, costs almost on-par with the most expensive berserker weapons, takes 8 blocks and can't even stun a scrake? Hm... sounds like a challenge.

M99 - is in the only state it can be tolerated right now.

M4 - is glorious. The lovely headshots, all day long... The only gun you ever need as cmdo. But yeah, I think I'm almost the only one who actually rolls it.

M4/203 - is like all the demo weapons added. A kind of unfunny joke.

Combat shotgun - kinda too pricy and you spend most of the wave reloading, but I sometimes grab it when I want a light loadout and some scrakes need to fly.

Vlad - most of the time, I'm not even aware that this weapon is in the game.

ZED thrower - fugly. Weak. Useless. The only use of it is showing off to your online friends that you can pull of a bounce/uppercut on scrakes. Which works about 1 in 20 times without taking damage...

8) Huskgun - apparently most FB's find Dual Flares to be better than the most expensive gun in their arsenal. This just ain't right. Considering the cost and inconvenience of charging up, this gun should instant-kill SC even at HoE!
Get out.

1) Chainsaw - Needs changes, dunno.

2) M99 AMR - Sharp's heavy hitters need to have reload bonus removed (but everyone would have a massive cry), then make M99 a bit cheaper so it's not so damn stupid.

3) M4 - Seems alright to me, iunno, make it another ak duplicate? I don't care, I'm a doctor too.

4) M4+M203 - Needs all mando bonuses. Equal nade ammo to m79. Optional nade reload (rather than forced).

5) Combat Shotgun - I agree. It's already nerfed with lower mag size and higher price, give it the same reload speed.

6) Vlad - I think maybe it would be cool to have it as a weapon similar to the hunting shotty, almost useless unless you're close, but devestating in tight spaces and close range is what I have in mind.

7) ZED thrower - Weakest shotgun yet, complete piece o' cr*p. Dunno what to do with it. Maybe give it a very high 'shot' count, would make it stand out a bit more and would be a damage boost but not in a traditional and boring way.

8) Huskgun - This gun is awesome and you should stop talking about changing it and start talking about nerfing flares.

I don't care very much about berserker weapons and therefore i'd rather not discuss about the chainsaw.

M99's ammo price and its reload bonus should return to its original value in the IJC pack. I prefer IJC version M99 to official version.

I don't use M4 or M4GL because of the stupid ROF--DOUBLE SHOOT. Besides, M4 has got instable bullet diversion while AK does a STEADY recoil like a dash /. I prefer stable recoil (every bullet hits the recoil path) to instable diversions.

Combat shotgun. $1000 pre-perk ($300 LV6). Same reload speed as the pump shotgun. That's enough. The shortage of capacity and reloading cannot be compensated by S/A firing, and therefore, $300 at most.
PS: I recommand $2500 ($750 LV6) for KSG shotgun. The magazine is much more practicable than S/A firing.

I'm currently perfecting arts of the Support Specialist so I don't really use other perks that often, but I agree 100% with the Combat Shotgun. When I found out that the magazine has only 6 shells I was already a little upset, but when I found out there's also 35% slower reload I've never used this shotgun again, especially on solo there's just no time to reload at all. Now I kinda get it that there are only 6 shells, because of its burst damage, but the nerf of a slower reload is just too much. Maybe they've been testing it with normal reload speed and this gun was too powerful, but I really would what to see them say that's what it was, then I wouldn't be so upset.

With F/A mechanism, it is an AA12 with 6 shots. M4S90 and AA12 both own a rof of 300 rpm.

The reload problem KILLS this weapon. In my opinion this will be a brilliant weapon if it reloads the same speed as the regular shotgun (and it will worth $1000 pre perk), and even more shining if it owns F/A mechanism and 7 in magazine (worth $2500 pre perk). Think of the CS version M4S90.

Except Combat has 2 more pellets per shot and 5 more damage per pellet than the AA12, making it F/A would be too much. Giving it standard shotty reload speed would suffice.
"Making it F/A would be too much". May I ask you that if you have considered its reloading?
Reloading 6 shells took 4 secs if the reload are the same as pump shotgun (more if not). And? AA12 took 3.13 secs to reload. Will you use M4S90 instead of AA12 in order to F/A? HELL NO.

It simply doesn't need F/A, it's only 6 shots, you can already spam the shots very fast in semi-auto. It's not F/A in real life either, just saying. The shots are more powerful than AA12, so you can't keep comparing to AA12 and saying that it's tremendously outshone by it.
The reload speed change is enough to allow people to consider it differently and start using it more without buffing the hell out of it.

I feel the mag count serves that purpose well enough Capt, reload speed is just a slap to the face of the user imo.
When I use the Combat Shotgun I just feel like TWI is whispering "hehe f**k you for buying this gun hehehehe" every time I reload. Which is probably why it gets mentioned quite a lot when someone brings up 'guns that you never use'.

CSG is fine as it is. The only difference should be that it should be a bit cheaper (although I think it is now?). It's a perfect sidegrade to teh PSG - reloads slightly slower (I'm sure), and has S/A fire, which is good for pros, and terrible for noobs, and balances out well IMHO.

M99 needs a better downside than "It's super-pricey", but we've been saying that for ages so hey.

Husk cannon is very powerful if you know what to do with it, but it works better in small games IMHO. In larger ones, FBs should be just covering trash IMHO to allow other people to just cover larger things, and husk cannon is worse than FT for this. If you're playing a solo or 2man game or something, it's pretty good as you can kill anything except a FP without a problem.

I agree the rest need a bit of a look at though.

Honestly, all CGS needs is a price tag around 500 for lvl6. Right now it's quite ok weapon, but just not worth the money.
M4/203 needs the same price, and single or 3-burst fire. Increasing grenade pool wouldn't hurt too.
