The Wifi Problem (Solved ? )

Hi all, I use to play this game until the big patch, where it made it impossible to play if you had WI-FI ( because of the speed hack program )

So technically I just wanted to know if it has been solve so I can start playing again, I dont want to re-download the game since I got a download limit and the game takes almost half of it. so I figured id ask here before.

I've been playing fine with a wireless connection for about 2 months now. I think in all probability it has more to do with some existing security software on your computer or your router it self.

it just depends on the server you join, whether they have disabled the speedhack detection or not.

mine has it turned off, so i dont get booted because of my crappy 56k modem.

Just out of curiosity. Does your server sit behind that same 56k modem? Or is it a 3rd party hosted server?

lol, no, i dont run ro2 server off my 56k.
it's a rented vds.

Well at least one person is still using them.... I think i have my old 33.6k modem kicking around in an old tower somewhere if you want it

I spent many an hour playing MOHAA and Battlefield 1942 with mine, to mention but two.

anyone have any hardware 56k modems? my software one keeps disconnecting (so i lose all stats gained)

I was able to play fine during 3 months with a WIfi, located myself in the India Ocean (320 ping minimum).

Strangely enough, with the same hardware, here in France the thing give me sometimes "speed hack".

Yes, thats exactly what happend to me too. Any other games are fine, max settings. ( such as Il-2 c.o.d or total war shogun 2 )

Okay well il download it at the end of the month then, seeing from the answers I got and give it a try.

The thing about changing servers is I dont play in servers that got less than 35 people in. or else its just boring ( to me )
