slyk: youre not being nice, youre being mean. ive seen your maps and they arent very good so dont even bother with the whole "im a mapper youre not" thing. its old. just because omar is a mapper and youre not, doesnt give you some sort of authority on exploits. your friend, dontfeedtheanimal is a cool, and respectable guy, you should be more like him. as he is awesome and you are not at this moment.
Dex, in general, I'm going to have to agree with Prime that you need to get your facts straight.
About the white list itself, where to start? How about that no one made any effort to contact me that there was a bug with a particular element; no email, no PM on this forum, no PM or post at After-Hourz.com, where I specifically request feedback.
The white list is a good idea in theory, but as Prime points out, it's useless if done after-the-fact when mappers release 'final' versions or move on from the the game, especially when feedback is totally **** about unintentional bugs. There are/were many intentional leveling maps made for KF, the white list assists with that. If this process is to work, those trusted with the authority to report bugs are responsible for reporting such bugs to mappers, no excuses. In my case, no one bothered to contact me and I don't make a habit of following the white list thread months after a release...which I did not post beta 2 in it's own thread since feedback quantity and quality in this community has been so poor compared to RO.
To directly address Dex, again: yeah, my map isn't the best, by any means, but it's fun, and challenging enough for my first go at a KF map. And honestly, it hasn't been touched for months (whenever beta2 was released), nor do I plan to do much with it but I suppose I will fix it, now that a third party brought it my attention. As for your maps, personally, I've played them enough and they're ok, nothing special, but that's my opinion. I'll let my qualifications as a mapper rest on my work with Red Orchestra, Call of Duty and Call of Duty: UO, and Medal of Honor before that; and I suppose the half dozen job offers over the last couple years may count for something. But then again, that's just my opinion, I suppose. But, as a relative new-comer to the community I understand you aren't up to speed on who's who etc.
Finally, about Animal, he's a great guy, but don't think for a second that he wouldn't punch you in the face, give you a wedgie, and steal your lunch money.
