Dex, please check your facts dude. I am not Slyk.

you need to get a new signature then. and still, you could learn a thing or 2 from dontfeedtheanimal, i know hes in after hourz also, and hes a good guy.

if TWI has to go back and fix the exploits in their maps to keep the game fair, then other mappers should too.

@bswearer - I guess you don't know much about running a server. Those are your real steamIDs. I'd show you how it works, but I don't think you'd understand.

actually i'm currently running two servers and used to run upwards to 8 servers for TW's two games. luckily never had to permanantly ban many people.

thing is, i know there's a difference between the steamID and the community id and i also know how to find it, nice try with the insult though :p.

the really funny thing is that you actually went and searched the steam community to find out who was involved, took our steam community ids and converted them them to discover what the steamIDs were......you know you could have just banned us all using an easier process but.......moving right along, so did you also try and get all of our ip addresses as well to ban those? you assume everyone only uses one steam account, what if i happened to have 4 copies of KF? not saying i do, not saying i dont, but kinda makes you wonder doesnt it?

anyway, i just find it funny, yet a bit sad that you actually did the all that work so that you could ban some people from your server, especially when it's people who've probably never visited your server before and the effect is pointless as all these players will find plenty of other servers to play on.

oh, and thanks for the complete derailment of this thread. move along and go flame and troll somewhere else please ;)

slyk: youre not being nice, youre being mean. ive seen your maps and they arent very good so dont even bother with the whole "im a mapper youre not" thing. its old. just because omar is a mapper and youre not, doesnt give you some sort of authority on exploits. your friend, dontfeedtheanimal is a cool, and respectable guy, you should be more like him. as he is awesome and you are not at this moment.

Dex, in general, I'm going to have to agree with Prime that you need to get your facts straight.

About the white list itself, where to start? How about that no one made any effort to contact me that there was a bug with a particular element; no email, no PM on this forum, no PM or post at After-Hourz.com, where I specifically request feedback.

The white list is a good idea in theory, but as Prime points out, it's useless if done after-the-fact when mappers release 'final' versions or move on from the the game, especially when feedback is totally **** about unintentional bugs. There are/were many intentional leveling maps made for KF, the white list assists with that. If this process is to work, those trusted with the authority to report bugs are responsible for reporting such bugs to mappers, no excuses. In my case, no one bothered to contact me and I don't make a habit of following the white list thread months after a release...which I did not post beta 2 in it's own thread since feedback quantity and quality in this community has been so poor compared to RO.

To directly address Dex, again: yeah, my map isn't the best, by any means, but it's fun, and challenging enough for my first go at a KF map. And honestly, it hasn't been touched for months (whenever beta2 was released), nor do I plan to do much with it but I suppose I will fix it, now that a third party brought it my attention. As for your maps, personally, I've played them enough and they're ok, nothing special, but that's my opinion. I'll let my qualifications as a mapper rest on my work with Red Orchestra, Call of Duty and Call of Duty: UO, and Medal of Honor before that; and I suppose the half dozen job offers over the last couple years may count for something. But then again, that's just my opinion, I suppose. But, as a relative new-comer to the community I understand you aren't up to speed on who's who etc.

Finally, about Animal, he's a great guy, but don't think for a second that he wouldn't punch you in the face, give you a wedgie, and steal your lunch money.

sorry man but when i saw prime evil running around with a signature that has your name plastered all over it, i thought it was you just going by a diff name. i forget that youre new to the kf community and not upto speed on whos who, but the guys who are doing this whitelisting are all pretty good guys. as for me? a relative new comer to the KF community? ive been playing KF for 3 years now, so id say im far from just a new guy. not to mention that im in the second oldest KF clan - Zombie Extermination Division, alongside some of the best KF players ever. as far as mapping goes, ive never done it to make something "special", so youre going to have to search harder to hurt my feelings. Rock was sorta amateur aswell, but i understand because youre not upto speed on that either.

lol so Olivier isn't really bertrand_le_castor's evil twin brother!? :D

blocking volumes +1

Hahaha no ;)

I like blocking volumes :D they are the exploiters #1 fear... after the blacklist... but i really think they fear solid brushes most.

I've seen several good maps get de-whitelisted recently simply because somebody found some very obscure bugs and then advertised them to the entire KF community.

Can i have some kind of proof that would incriminate our team? And really why did you had to waste your time on finding our IP :p i can still join more than 800 servers (+ my own server) :)

hmm, ok i didnt really mean for this thread to become such a heated argument, i just wanted to let the team know that me and s281 appreciate all the bugs/exploits found in our maps, ESPECIALLY the game-breaking areas where ppl could get stuck on things.

the conversation about all the porn in my map was funny to read too, and i will put a warning in the description (i put one in the final maps thread, but nobody reads those)

i'd post a link to my maps discussion, but i dont want the rage over this transferring to that forum.

i dont want to fight either, but im upset that people would actually be against making the "whitelist" into a whitelist. people can still play maps when they are not whitelisted. perks are not the main focus of KF. old maps and new maps deserve to be tested and dealt with equally. telling people to sign upto your forum just so they can post screw ups in your map is silly.

yeah i didnt know you played ro, leningrad was good, but (bondarevo? cant remember the maps) was so bad, couldnt even get the arty radio captured. germans usually get to that point at least.

ya basovka.......a terrible shame because that map is usually quite enjoyable for both sides and results in close fights. but with 50players on a map designed for 32, it's usually improbable for the germans to get the first two objectives. unless you get a reall good german squad leader who can throw good smoke and get some arty called in :D

imagine.....KF-basovka.....the humans get to defend the trenches of course

yeah our squa leader was kind of an idiot (hopefully he's not on here) i would smoked the trenches themselves in the middle cause theres no way you could defend that effectively
