This question has been asked and answered, and this dead horse has been beaten to dust. We'll make announcements about release timescales when we are ready, and not before, just like we have always said. No amount of begging, ranting, etc will make us change our mind on this. "When it's ready" means when it's ready, and part of that means we won't announce any dates for when we are or are NOT releasing the game until we are comfortable with those dates.

Regarding the game being in alpha, the game is going to be in alpha until some of you guys are playing it in the semi public beta. So if it was out of alpha, you guys would know For us, about 50%+ of the development time is "alpha" development, 40% is pre-alpha, and about 10% is beta, gold, and all the rest.

I hope that apart from the pre-purchasers there should also be beta give aways in on-line game magazines.

That would make good media coverage and it'll have people involved in the activity of registering in those websites or whatever is needed... it would be better than just passive advertising

The time depends on how much work is being put into the game and number of dev team members working on the game. TWI is a small team so its totally understandable the length of time being put into this game. Quality over quantity obviously. I don't care when this game comes out as long as it comes out. Seriously, if it is going to take time, so what? Everyone here who is half paying attention know they are a smaller team and they are working to actually make a decent game and not just the same old/same old with newer graphics.
Would I like it out sooner? Sure. But lets be realistic and give them a break.

Im thinking a year may be a little bit soon . . Q4 2011 imo. Then the inevitable delays to iron things out. Q1 2012, hits my hard drive.

Well, TWI has a history of announcing their games very close to the release, like Ostfront or Killing Floor. Heroes of Stalingrad being an exception, but it doesn't mean they have to announce every single feature too soon, as far as we know, you could be right, but they could also release a trailer next week with tanks and have the beta opened next month.

My estimation for beta is Q4 2010 - Q1 2011

It better be this way, so we have at least one year to play it before the end of the world in 2012 =P

This all depends on ones opinion of out dated. So why should the new game be outdated ? Can you be more specific about your defenition of outdated.
What would it made more updated ? Graphics ? Gameplay ?
