Beta Available to All RO2/RS Owners

Next time you stop a beta test, please make sure that it's deleted from Steam. It's nuts to see people talking about having to pull down 5+ GB and have 20+ GB reserved when they can't even play once they sit around for it to finish! You're creating a lot of ill will amongst your userbase. Check the Steam forum for the game for the commentary that I'm talking about:

I just tested something out that makes me really happy. I loaded up a map in single player, and chose a weapon and the lowest level version then spawned in. Did that with different classes. Then, I closed the game and loaded back in and the game remembered which weapon I chose along with which level I chose for it!

I tried Betio, the map looks good, but the huge thing that got me angry is that as marines you spawn already on the beach.
the battle of betio was one of the most hard landing in the pacific campaign.
The main point of the Japanese defence was to stop the Marines on the beaches; so playing this map AFTER the landing its a little shame.
In one of the Rising Storm trailer i saw a scene on the Iwo jima map where the marine troops were moving on LvTs like in a proper landing.
Is there any chances to see a landing like that on this map?
Watch a doc of the battle.

I read about the Beta for Steam on Facebook. I recently bought RS but I dont see any Beta for RS on Steam. Do I lack of having something to be able to access the Beta as well ?

Wolfseye
you should have it in your steam games list. try right clicking on your ro/rs game title and clicking on the beta tab. maybe you need to opt into the beta before you get it in your games list. I've had it for over a year, so I forget how I got it in the first place.

Only server is passworded?

Upcoming tests & times
Sunday 3pm EDT, 8pm BST, 9pm CEST
Wednesday 3pm EDT, 8pm BST, 9pm CEST
Friday 3pm EDT 8pm BST, 9pm CEST

One would think this big letters would be hard to miss :p

...and off course, OP:
Edit- please note that the beta servers are not always up. We put the beta servers up when we are having a Playtest to ensure we focus testing around times when a Dev can be present to collect data and impressions.

That is the reason i think rabid.

I live in the netherlands...:(

If you live in the netherlands it should timewise be pretty good, considering its at 9PM CEST, which is the dutch timezone.

Australia is a bit meh as its like 5 am, which i can understand. However remember that we need feedback about gameplay on a full server, which in general is a lot more difficult at australian time since the ideal time for that is about 5 am for us folk and 11 am for eu folk, which is where the majority of the players come from.

It is however possible to start a singleplayer game, or perhaps tryout skirmish and give some feedback about that.

Its not just a test to give people a sneak preview, we really want to monitor how things go and look into feedback from players, and for that we need some of our guys to be there as well.

And again with a beta, i see 2 people and no servers :(

Just as said here before, i will play some offline maps.

If you read the previous posts in this thread you will see that the beta only has playtest at specific times, and the servers are only put online for those test times. If you read the threads above you will see listed the times for those tests.

I don't believe we have any control over when something is installed or deleted from you local machine. Perhaps Valve does, but all we can do is make something available for download, and make it not available for download, that is it.
