okay, first time the server crashed while we played a roladder-clanwar.
this is the most annoying situation you can have as clan.

so once again the question, if there is still someone trying to find reasons for the crashes?

we had debian sarge on the last one.

and i think debian now (i dont know if this both are the same).

i wonder, how one linux-distibution should be more stable than another, but ill ask our provider, if its possible to switch the OS to suse.

first ill make another thread, where admins should post specs, OS, etc, so we can perhaps manage to help tripwire.

I have the same Problems with Suse Linux Pro 9.3

The RO-Server is very unstable and crashed all 2 or 3 days.

I think the Version for Linux is very Buggy !!!

(New System, new install, Hardware ok, ROServer crashed and crashed)

And no one helps here in the Forum from the devs.

When they use the stable UT Game Code and they have made an so bugy Version its not a good sign for the future.

@ROTeam, please fixe the bugs in the Server Version !!!

And its not very funny for clans who have rented a game server for a lot of money, and the server admins must start the server each days again and again !

We're going to look into this more closely once the next patch goes out, just so we're debugging a recent codebase. We can slipstream a Linux patch on top of the release at a later time without too much hassle, so it won't have to wait for yet-another major release after that.

As for the crash: it looks like a uscript/c++ mismatch. While fixing them is usually just a matter of tweaking a single line of code, they are subtle and nasty to track down in the first place, and trust me, they happen to every Unreal licensee (and Epic as well in UT200x), so it's not really some sort of "Tripwire ruined the Unreal codebase" situation.

This particular crash isn't really very widespread, according to the crash reports. It's a small comfort when it's your server, though, I know. :)

So, uh, watch this space once the next patch comes out; I'll probably be emailing some of you directly for test cases. As we get this fixed, we'll keep everyone posted.

you are aware that the crash report system didnt work for quite a while now?
I recall several guys saying that they get an error stating that the crashlog couldnt be sent, ending in a "host not found" some weeks ago (was it testreports.dyndns.org?)
I myself whitnessed it while starting the server several times while testing some actors...

The problem is not the Linux Version, i have Suse Linux Pro 9.3 and it crashes after 2-3 Maps too !!!
