Worth a purchase?

Before I bite though, just had a few questions:

• With several patches in, is the game playable (less stuttering?)
• Game play bugs fixed?
• How is the support for this game?
• How is the MP component of the game

Well, for starters, the multiplayer community is pretty much alive. There are dozens of full servers at any give hour. The devs make a good job of keeping us interested with new content and events such as these (holiday updates). They also listen to the community in balance related issues and are quick to fix bugs and exploits.

Its also has an unusually friendly community for a multiplayer game.

The game is even fun playing in solo or a lan party of 2 or 3.

I highly recommend this game, even at retail price

I've bought 3 copies of KF, all at retail. Plus several dlc packs. Best game ever for the money I spent. Period.

I think the replies around here might be a bit biased. Im on 500+ hours and counting, and it is a game I just keep returning to.

You're better off buying it off Steam.

That is, unless it uses Steam anyway, in which case buy how you want to buy.

I'm just mentioning this because having a Steam friends list is one of the best ways of both playing, and finding servers.

It is really good for LAN games. Me and my friends play at least once a week and have set up our own server so that we can play from home too.

3months and have under 150hours gameplay

Killing Floor is by far the best game I have every played. I don't run a community and 3 servers for the fun of it. You should most definitely pick up this game, and you will have a blast playing it. If you are worried about the playerbase, check the Steam stats, look how many people responded to you here, check the Killing Floor Steam group and most of all, try the free weekend.

SDK to make your own stuff (too few developers release this nowadays)
Tonnes of replayability
A truly unique game with fantastic design

You will get 5x the enjoyment from this that you would with other zombie type games (L4D comes to mind).
