Tactics Tips & Tactics + Perk info

ALWAYS switch perks depending on what gear you are buying. Switch to medic before you buy body armor. Switch to support before you buy a shotgun. Switching perks is instant and unlimited in between waves and the discounts apply immediately. This will save you a lot of cash that you or your team might need later on.

you will need to remove this now. Tripwire have considered this an exploit and have changed it so that you can only change perks once per wave, preventing this from being possible.

yes, i know.
I also have to adjust a couple other tips.
Scrakes can no longer be knocked back either :(

You sure? I do remember shooting them sometimes and watching them fly back 20m or so. I thought they just made it so you couldn't launch things a ridiculous distance, not so certain things couldn't be knocked back at all.

No idea what the specimen HP is or how much damage each weapon does for that matter.
But on harder difficulties, specimens have more HP (and do more damage) and I think that they also get more HP with more people ingame. At least the fleshpound seems to get more HP. I can 2 shot him on solo normal with a hunting shotgun but it doesn't work in 6 player online. He needs much bigger beating to go down.
Don't know if it's just the FP or all specimens that get increased HP. I assume it's all specimens

yes

so you can for example play support specialist, start wave 1 with your knife to level the berserker perk, then use shotguns for the support perk, and carry a bullpup and pull it out for stalker kills to level the commando perk.
All that without having to switch perk to level them.

You do however only get the bonusses from your current active perk.
So what perk you want to use does not depend on what you want to level but rather on which bonusses you want to receive.

edit
I just added 2 tips at the end of the general tips section to clarify this :)
And now I'm really gonna play. I was going to spend 30 minutes "quickly" putting the new part of my guide on here.
That was 2 hours ago ... :p

nice addition

just for my interest, since I'm not a hardcore KF player (I have some fun with it occasionally)
You do not need to select the perk you want to level?
So f.e. you can play any perk and still level your sharpshooter perk if you take headshots with the right weapon?

Yes, otherwise my Medic perk would still be struggling to reach lvl1 ><

Its why its worth taking a Bullpup with you when you go Berserker, comes in handy for Crawlers and boosts your Stalker kills.

Edit: Isn't Suicidal Long, Clots only, the best for Sharpshooter? Assuming you've gotten another lvl5 perk so you can sell it for a Handcannon or you can simultaenously level Berserker. That way you get more clots per wave and they aren't really a threat anyway unless you get yourself stuck in the middle of them. If you have to just stand in a narrow doorway (on any map) and let them walk up and grab you, then shoot them in the face for an easy kill.

I've added another tip at the end of the Berserker leveling section to advise people to kill each wave 5 with a bullpup since it always contains a few stalkers. This adds up in the end to give a nice boost to the Commando perk.

Stalkers appear in each wave 2...they just aren't as common until later waves. A better tactic is to learn where they spawn. Some common locations are:

Office: Rooftop and 3rd Floor Vents
Manor: Second Floor of the Manor and the Boathouse (TONS in the boathouse)
West London: They hop off of the overpass, near the tunnels
Biotics: They tend to hop down from vents overhead in various hallways, but consistantly come down from the vents in a room with a window and weldable door near the trader
Farm: Usually appear in the farm houses, but can really appear anywhere. This isn't a good map to farm them on, ironically!

Er.. he was talking about the fast levelling with mutators. For some reason wave 5 is always mixed.
