Minimalist Server Perks (MinSP) provides a minimalist framework for creating and using custom KF perks. It is an alternative to Marco's Server Perks mutator, geared towards those who would like to use custom perks with minimal fuss. There is very little configuration required to get it up and running save for deciding what perks and perk levels are available to select.

As this mutator is very bare bones, there are no custom controllers, pawns, trader menus, perk features beyond standard bonuses, or perk progression. If you are looking to create custom game modes with a plethora of perks, specimens, weapons, then Server Perks is the mutator of choice. On the other hand, if you just need a simple mutator to use custom perks, such as:

  • Showing the world you can beat KF with level 0 perks, on beginner
  • Testing your own perk bonuses, such as a berserker with 100% damage reduction
then MinSP is what you are looking for.

Features

  • Use as many perks as desired
    • Option available to include the default perks
    • Create own perks derived from the KF perk class
  • Players may select their own perk level, level range set by server
    • Min allowed perk level is 0, max allowed perk level is 6

We tried this mutator out this evening and some things seemed to be a bit broken.

We noticed two issues:

1. Trader menu
- You can only buy onperk weapons, as soon as you switch to a different perk weapon group, the buttons do no longer work.
- Some DLC-weapons are not buyable at all
- After you bought one weapon, you can't buy another

2. Spawning
- If someone chooses a level 6 perk before joining and then switches back to a lower level, the person will still get the level6 spawn weapon

Anything other than that, it seemed to work fine.

We really enjoyed using this, it would be awesome if you could find some time in the near future to look into that.

Alright, finally got around to fixing the trader bugs you found DasB. The trader menu is working properly now, hopefully you won't run into those bugs again. I didn't bother changing the weapon spawning. To me, it's no different than switching in the initial 10 seconds to start with a crossbow or m79/pipes as zerk. I suppose we can start a YouTube channel honoring the scumbag players who use this exploit, hue hue :rolleyes:.
