This is the beta release of my Donner recreation!

This is beta version 1c! Map works pretty good, only big thing missing is a working map that will be added soon!

A little history about the map:

Donner is originally a map from the original Day Of Defeat mod, this was my unit (29th Infantry Division) favorite map in Dod, Cpt. Cranston decided to recreate the map for Darkest Hour when the unit transferred over to DH. I wondered why nobody had made one yet for RO2 so i gave it a shot, this is basically my first map, had to learn everything from scratch! Hope everyone likes the result so far!

This is video footage of a test session with a older version of the map.

Update 1.b:

- Forgot to remove an extra axis commander class from its early map days
- Changed the name of the file so its more server friendly.

Update 1.c:
-Added more spawnactors
- Overhead map works, but still no objective outlines added!


Update 1.d:
-Some minor light adjustments
-Added Skylight
-Performance tweaks with static meshes

For anyone who has it on their servers, please let me know if it works correctly, it seemed to crash our 29th battalion server when it switched over to the map after a vote, maps has a tendency to do this when new on a server, but keep a eye on it.

No crashes with this map and it was played by around 20 people at the same time which was the highest count i noticed in the last days. It was played more than two times.

But: WF-Donner seems to have Bug. I can`t join the Role Selection. I`m stuck at the map preview at 00:00 Time.

Edit: My mistake but your config is complete wrong i had to edit it to WFGame. I

Nice, thank you. I like to play this map on the [FR] IOM server :D

Have you fixt the small hill, when you come from the german spawn and want to go left to the Bunker, that small hill before you need to walk the small path between the buildings?

It blocks my shot higher then it looks ;)


And are there any plans to let the map look more modern? Like I said some month ago. With paving stones in the street and more authentic broken/destroy walls (right now you use the simple DoD way without a lit of details :p )

I tried adding pavement, but i have exceeded the amount of terrain layers, if i add one more i get the colorful rainbow textures. But i think i will remove the grass and add some cobbles, i can't guarantee it will look good as im not good in making nice looking terrain.

And regarding that small hill, i checked and there is some plants that might have been with collision, i turned it off.
