Killing Floor performance with an USB modem

I am thinking of buying Killing Floor but first I would need to know how well it works online with an USB modem. Unfortunately it is the only Internet connection available on my city apartment. Team Fortress 2 and many other Source games work well with it. In Team Fortress 2 my ping is around 150 and I and my friends almost never notice me lagging at all. Left 4 Dead seems to work quite horribly though. The server seeking system on it might be the cause though as the server lists always show crazy pings for every server on every game. It might have picked bad servers for me to play on.

This might be the USB modem I am using: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huawei_E220
Speed is 5 Mb / 384 Kb.

Source has some of the best netcode in any game. That's not just opinion, it's a fact. Most people praise Source's netcode. I have a 45$ Comcast connection, and I can get anywhere from 25-75 ping on average in Source games, even while running a torrent...can't do that in many other games.

If you're lagging, it's either the server or you.
