I'll Show You Mine If You'll Show Me Yours (Part Deux)

This came to me not too long ago. All matching 1945-dated K43 sniper rifle.
Scope mount matches and as an added bonus the rifle is featured in the G43 reference book "Hitler's Garands" by W. Darrin Weaver. Page 287 or somesuch.

I've also got another G41 (made by the same company as that puppy ^^^) coming this wednesday. :D

i have to ask... how much did that bad boy set you back?

Confidential... but a lot. Suffice to say I'm a bit in debt now. :)

Here are a few more images of it. They're big so I'll link them...

Those are the best I've got right now. The gun is in storage, so taking pictures is a bit time consuming. I'll be taking full pics of the G41 when I get it, but it might be a while before I get around to posting them. I'm working, just started classes again, and am busy as all hell. :( There are pictures of the G41 I already have at my website under "German Self Loaders"

My G41 in action last weekend. (2meg .wmv)

This video is my friend shooting it. The thing is absolutely amazing to shoot... virtually no recoil whatsoever because it's so heavy. Don't get me wrong, I love shooting my G43's, but they simply do not compare to the G41.

I can see why you didnt wear earplugs hehe. Weren't there 2 versions of the G41? Mauser and Walther? Wich one is this?

Yeah, I was recording video on my crappy digital camera, so the audio ****s. The G41 was/is just as loud as any other comparable rifle. ... and I was wearing ear plugs. ;)

There were three versions of the G41. G41(M) and G41(W) were the designations given to the prototypes that were in competition for the semi-auto contract. Once the G41(W) won the contract, the (W) was dropped and all subsequent rifles were marked G41. Both of mine are the production model of the G41. (M)'s and (W)'s are very rare and much more expensive than the average G41.

There were no reliability issues with my G41 when I shot it. It was smooth as glass. Easily the most pleasant-shooting gun I've ever fired. Beats the G/K43 no contest. Most of the problems that arose with the gun were focused around the intense amount of labor required to keep it running during combat conditions. When you're just plinking at the range, it's an amazing machine. Much love for the 41.
