How do you pick your team?

I play on the side with fewer players. More often than not it's the Soviet team.

For some reason I don't like playing as the defending team on any map, I prefer to push forward rather than sit tight and hold an area

Germans pretty much all the time. Because the people I play with always want to play german and because I wanted to focus on bringing up a gun to level 50 before swapping class/gun/side. Got the kar98 at level 50 and now working on the machine gun.

I choose whichever team is shorthanded. If they are evenly matched, I usually go German.

...not 100% sure why I go Axis, though. I think it has to do with Ally uniforms/silhouettes being more distinguishable and I just really like the guns.

Personally I keep 4 small dice beside my keyboard. Rolling all four, if more even numbers come up than odd, I go with Russian. More odd numbers, I go with German. Tie? I roll again.

That is, assuming the teams are even/start of round. Otherwise I just go to which ever team has the fewest players.

Joining a game in progress, always the side with fewer players - no exceptions. At the beginning of the round, the German team because the Kar98 is my favorite weapon (I don't really like the iron sights on the Moisin).

I usually join the russians both for the feel of the weapons, as for the fact that they're usually the server's underdogs.

I feel bad for the Russians so I join them. I also like to kill MKB'ers, so that's another reason

I almost always play a vanilla bolt and am trying to keep the levels even, so I play whichever side I have a lower bolt level in.

Germans i tend to favour their history more than the Russians.

Lacking the only reason to pick a side... 'the one with less players'. If the side are equal its simply random.

Yep. Whichever side has the least amount of players is the one I pick. And it's almost always Russian. Hell, I barely know the German side of Barracks.

Funny because in RO1 I'd go completely random, but now I pretty much always go Russian. Stats have something to do with it; I want to level up the PPSH a fair amount.

I'm extremely biased towards joining Axis, but I find that most of the time the side I choose is map dependent. I often join whichever team is assaulting the objectives.

Why do you use an even number of dice? Just use 3 or 5 so it's impossible to have a tie.
