hello there,

i want to plea for an uncut kf2 release in germany.

why?

1) actualy there is no reason to cut it, even a cut version would be 18+, because "humanlikes" die.
2) promotion of 18+ stuff isn't allowed in the public anyways.
3) steam already does an age check that goes with the law
4) customers go "my ***!"

releasing a cut version here would benefit only the censors, none else.

i don't get why you bother with the cut releases anyways, because the above points are a known in the business.

greetings

poosh

You should make a petition to German Government not to Tripwire imo

From what I heard, that can be bypassed. Supposedly, you just need to get someone from uncensored country to buy it and gift it to you.

for kf1 there a config mod to get it uncut - at least that.
but to have to depend on cracks, mods, other people to get something done that isn't necessary, is kinda short-sighted in my eyes.

erm... there is NO reason to cut a game in germany that would be 18+ anyways, it's a different thing in australia, but not here.

Marketing. They can be sold but not advertised or displayed. Out of sight...

Truly. Treating symptoms of a problem doesn't make the problem go away. It may seem like petitioning the govt' is hard work but the cumulative resources and effort of petitioning individual businesses is far greater. It's better to open the door for everyone rather than endlessly fight for individual exemptions.

if the german politicians are anything like the aussie ones even if change is made they'll find a way to make it meaningless and leave us right back where we were.

we fought for an 18+ designation, eventually got one, then they shifted all the goal posts so what was a 15+ game more or less became 18+ and anything previously refused classification more or less still was. democracy is for chumps

That's correct. As long as game is not region locked (like game that has nazi symbols (latest Wolfenstein)) you can always buy TF2 keys on market and find somebody who will trade you the game for items.

You think people haven't tried that already? The regulation of media is all done for "youth protection" and the grand majority of people do not care about the subject at all.

Allow me to TL;DRify this sentence, even if your post describes it perfectly accurate:

It's of no use. No matter with what amount of power we try that, it's absolutely futile.

Didn't Steam get a update where certain regions can no longer trade with other regions?
AwesomeGame is $40USD and has been currency converted to all regions in equal monetary value. This is fine for regions with the same or similar economies. For those that aren't: It may take someone in RegionA 5 work hours to afford this game. For someone in RegionB doing the same job it may take 10 hours. Therefor the price for the game in RegionB gets adjusted to match the economical value in that region.

You can thank all the key resellers for abusing this system to make a profit by selling keys to RegionA they've bought from RegionB for no longer being able to trade games with some people.

Things change. Government is no exception. As the older generation moves out it gives way to people with different experiences, those without an unreasonable fear of technology. It's the same concept as (Henry Rollins:Selling Out) hearing your favorite band in a commercial because the people from your generation are the one's calling the shots now.

That's the theory. In practice it looks like that:

Minimum hourly wage in USA: 7,25$
Minimum hourly wage in Poland: ~2,7$
AwesomeGame steam price in USA: 40$
AwesomeGame steam price in Poland: 40€, so about 48,43$

So, 5,5hrs of work for someone in US, 18hrs of work in PL.

Yeah, those resellers getting steam keys from eastern countries were one of the main source of non-pirated games in my country. Nice to know it's over :D
