So What Are Your Top 3 Things Liked About KF2?

Just like developers should know what isn't liked in a game, it's important for them to know what's well liked. This *and* I like sharing with people what I enjoy about something.

  • The gore system:
I love the gore, including flex, in the game. I love the gibs flying, blood painting the walls of a room, bodies breaking in the game. Messing with the gore manager in the ini is a lot of fun. And no shame, I love spotting a dead bloat on ther ground and bashing his butt so the body breaks in to more gibs.
  • The detailed animations:
Ok. I'm going to cheat here and combine two things. I love the detailed animations and varying movements that the zeds have. The mocap work is awesome. I really dig having added movements and attacks for the zeds as you move up in difficulites. The various animations for weapon handling is also fantastic.
  • The skill trees
Having the ability to choose what bonuses I want to suit my play style is definetly appreciated. I like options and I like to not have to feel like I always have to play a perk one way and that there isn't a "best" skill choice.

I could go on there are more things I really like that make the game stand out to me. Limiting to 3 things was tough. What's makes everyone else smile while playing?

The polish: yeah,I've always been a huge fan of Poland, thanks Tripwire! (huehuehuehuehue).

-No but really, the game is far more polished from a graphical perspective. It contains better animations, better gore, better designed characters and maps (for the most part) , cool-looking guns and it has an improved and deeper voice acting. Some parts of that "whole" might be debatable, but I still think the game is looking prettier and overal "shinier" than the first one. It doesn't make a game "great" , but it's definitely worth mentionning.

-The new content done right: I *****ed about resistances, teleportations, microtransactions and stuffs, but there are also a good chunk of good new things! The new characters for example, most of the maps, the soundtrack which is still awesome , the new weapons which are fun to play and pretty to look at , the addition of Hans... I certainly hope we'll get even more surprises , including after release!

-Perks: More of them, more defined and with special capabilities... It makes them funnier to play in the long time because you can really feel a change in your gameplay as you play. You get more powerful, or simply able to take another role, which I'm really fond of. The system is not perfect, that's for sure, but I'm still satisfied with the idea... Will be even more when it will be perfected! Also, having three new perks is of course great news (even though I'm certain there's still room for one or two more... Engineer and chembug anyone?)

Hrm...the things I like about Killing Floor 2.

1. The weapons. There are some weapons that are just satisfying to use. You get a visceral reaction when you unload both barrels into a zed and watch it fly into the distance in a cloud of blood and gore. First time I used the rail gun, I giggled a little at the ka-chunk sound and the light system on it. Oh freeze grenades were the best things invented ever. Freezing an entire group of zeds with a demo blowing them to teeny tiny sparkly chunks...thumbs up!

2. Sounds. They did a wonderful job, from smacking a zed with your melee weapon or butt of your weapon, to the roars of the fleshpound(even better in zed time). There are a lot of silly little things sounds that I find myself emulating in real life that get me weird stares...like the clot ooOOOooOOOo sound or Han's "I vunder."

3. Ability for mods to become official/whitelisted. For example, the one that increases the player limit. While having a 6man team is fine, the chaos of 25+ people running around frantically trying to avoid enraged fps/scrakes is awesome sometimes (*cough* even better with friendly fire).

I love the blood and guts and squishy noises they make when zeds get shot or smashed.

The sound effects period and audio are awesome. Zeds sounds, human voices and lines, bosses, weapons. I like them all.

I like the variety of weapons and classes, there's a style of play for everyone.

I like that we can customize our characters to look how we like.

I like the ability to easily mod the game, add custom maps, etc.

The community. Not everyone obviously, but I've made hundreds of awesome friends from all over the world while playing this game and I continue to meet interesting new people everyday.

-REALLY love the gore. especially FLeX's gib setting. long intestines hanging from the ceiling and completely red maps that were once white give me life.

-super detailed weapons. i don't normally notice it during gameplay, but i do love the things they took care to make like the barrels flexing and the sights jiggling, it's pretty innovative

-unique voices. now, i didn't mind how there were 3 voices max in kf1, but i think each character having their own voice brings new, much needed life to these characters. I especially love what they did with DJ Scully, it's such a perfect fit for his character.

1. The gore. I remember when I first played this game, the gore was so gross and detailed that I actually felt nauseous and sick, but in a good way. Like a "THAT'S ****ING AWESOME, but ew I feel nauseated." The only other game that was able to do that to me was when Fallout 3 first came out. Eventually I got used to it and don't feel nauseated anymore, so the gore is freakin' epic in this game! It has taken the throne of goriest video game. I used to play Gears of War, or Left 4 Dead 2 if I wanted the ultra-gore (and still play them sometimes), but KF2 has exceeded that level. The only downside is that I feel like the appearance of persistent splatters could be seriously improved upon.

Side note: I am a little bit jealous of the FLEX effects, as I have an AMD card. But I compensate for that by increasing max dead bodies and gore effects instead!

2. The animations. Not just the guns, but the animations as a whole. The ZEDs feel way more alive than in KF1. As much as I love the first game, the ZEDs used to be REALLY stiff in that one. But now, the way the ZEDs move and interact is visceral as ever. Especially when a gorefast slams his blade on the ground and you hear that "TING!" And the guns too, having the motion captured guns and all that is honestly one of the most genius things I've seen in any shooter game. The detail is astounding.

3. Just the way it all fits together to create the FEEL. This game, even when there's balance issues (although I'm not dismissing those), is SATISFYING AS F***! The gore, the sound effects, the attention to detail, the everything. I have 320 hours and I'm still not bored. The custom maps and modding community keep me entertained too! I'm so happy to see this game almost coming to official release, it's been a long journey.

As a passionate fan since the KF1 days, I say: thank you. :)

1. weapon animations - just lovely and the AK-12's barrel wobbling in zed time is great!

2. the new incap system - its great to see zeds react to bullets now, and seeing zeds flying from explosions is funny sometimes

3.graphic - it looks really good especially the realtime reflections, but even tho I miss the old dirt and bloody look of KF1 (hope you guys could go in that direction again), it still is awesome.

Top 3 Favourites huh? That's also a tough one, lemme give it a go:

- The Co-op. Really love it since you can have a blast with groups either pugs or friends but especially pugs since every time teaming up it's always a 1st time experience and able to rage on each other or calm each other while calling out scrakes and/or fleshpounds. Yeah it is this that even after rage-quitting, still coming back and get some more and probably winning.

- Character customisation. Man sometimes I see myself on one of the characters and have to give them something to reflect it even more, the old cap and a pair of glasses. Yeap. (Been playing mostly as Classic Masterson or Alberts)

- Zed time extensions. Really really love this ****. That one whole second and then extend again and again slowly and see all those other level 25 perks working their skills off. God.

1. Parry. I've played so many FPS with sh*t melee that this is nice. The standard cop-out is insta-kill QTE. This system feels more like mount and blade and that's good.

2. Animations. Some animations are just awesome like the single revolver fanning or the dual 9mm elite reload. I enjoy some of the zed animations/mocap too like the decap SC stumble or the FP rage. Bonus points because it feels like it's all low fantasy and does need much magic crutch (except jumping 8ft up because you met a 3ft fence - wtf is with that).

3. Atmosphere. I've made the same complaints about how clean the levels look and how watered down / less cheeky the banter is but overall it's still good. It's never chest-high walls and crates and it never feels like generic-shooter.

1. The amazing maps created by tripwire. They are all very detailed and create their own speific atmosphere. My favorite is catacombs, for this reason.

2. Firebug. Seriously, the flamethrower is so good, and it's fun too. The only perk I can solo HoE with, even with resistances.

3. The characters. They each have their own funny or cool personality, however some first person hands are better than others. I love the cosmetics too, but I don't have a lot.

In no particular order:

1- Sprinting, and sped up movement for everyone and everything in general. It makes it very fast and demanding for the player and I enjoy that a lot, it feels very fluid.

2- Weapons feels amazing, extremely detailed models, textures and animations. And shooting down zeds with them is extremely satisfying.

3-The art style in general, from the looks of the weapons, the characters, zeds, maps, etc. It's very cohesive and well put together.

1.hit boxes/ hit detection. Even on high ping servers accuracy perks are playable due to client side hit detection.

2.spawn weapons. Having every perk spawn with a perked weapon is definitely an improvement over just 9mm only in kf1, where players only got perked weapons on spawn at level 5 and 6, some which got much more powerful spawn weapons than others.

3.melee weapons. animations and aesthetic are much better than kf1 melee weapons.

Everything else is debatable or arguably inferior to kf1.

I spam R all the time, such a good idea!

1. Little touches like the above, they have such an impact! I don't even know my total time spent spinning a crovel or a knife!

2. Gore, animation - I put them together as a visual thing, they work wellcertainly and all ties into the game feeling more polished overall, besides I never get tired of heavy-swinging a giant sword to lop the top half off of something!

3. Perks/perk skills - firstly I am glad so many specialisations are there. It's not too often the fire guy even makes it into the game let alone has an equal slot, I have always been happy about this! The skills and choosing them also lets you further specialise that perk into a role you kinda build yourself which I love the idea of.

1) Being able to stumble zeds by bashing their heads and parrying their attacks. This always feels good because some games leave so much interaction out that all you can do is shoot it until its dead and it's a walking brick wall that does not flinch. The more interaction you can do that isnt "shoot it till its dead" will always add alot of enjoyment to the game.

2) Berserker's new Parry ability. When you parry an attack your contrast (I think) gets raised up alot and certain colors stand out. It feels like you've just gone berserk. I absolutely love feeling like I can just flat out overpower and bully zeds with the new berserker skill set, at least up to hard I havent had time to try much of this patch. I love how alive the berserker skill tree feels right now. There's so much diversity you can get in your build, I'd love to see this applied to upcoming perk reworks.

3) Music. The music really makes this game in my opinion. There's nothing better than being almost dead, trying to barely make it out alive while the music is blasting some kick *** break down. When I first started playing I didnt like Zynthetics music all that much but it's grown on me alot and Id love to see him add some more after release like in KF1.
