Options to split multiple controls from one key.

I am finding some keys doing multiple things a pain, I'd love to be able to split them up.

On that is really a pain is (zoom/sprint) I want to set zoom to mb4.
The thing is even if you disable zoom on sprint key, you still cant set zoom to another key.

This is a serious thing in my opinion. I don't know how many times myself and fellow squad mates have died because they needed to bandage themselves but instead went into cover. You'll see soldiers going in and out of cover and then bleed to death.

Seeing as how any wall you're near you can hug, this makes bandaging a huge hassle. Also, the same for giving a MGer ammo. Try to give him ammo? Cover. Also, picking up weapons instead of bandaging. It's very very annoying.

Zoom/Sprint isn't such a big deal for me, but definitely Use/Cover/Bandage should be separated. I haven't even been able to Use anything because every time I try, I get into cover.

i dont know who the genius was at TWI that decided to make the cover and bandage button the same, but they need to be punched in the nuts.

i cant tell you how many times i've tried to bandage myself in cover only for my presumably vodka fueled Russian player to detach from cover and stand straight up...

Totally agree with this, dropping into and out of cover when all I wanted was to bandage has got me killed a few times

+1 agreed completely.

Kinda sucks to have to find that sweet spot in the middle of a room so you can give ammo to an ally without sticking to a nearby wall 1,000 times.

Something definitely needs to be done with Use/Cover/Bandage. Zoom/Sprint though i think works ok. I think i rather see arma style zoom though where you hold down RMB to zoom

Yup, nothing wrong with having the system, and i'm sure some players will like it, and they can even leave it as the default bind.

But just provide the option to sepperate them aswell, this is a PC game, we've got 103/108 keys on our keyboard and atleast 3/5 on our mice, customizable controls are your freind.


And the same is true of toggle versus hold keys, some people like toggles for things, some people would rather have hold keys, and there's nothing wrong with providing both options, customizable binds are happy binds.

+1 for having the option to split the controls.

It gets annoying quickly when you try to do something and get plastered onto the wall instead.

Yep occasionally having a bit of a problem where I zoom when coming out of a sprint and since I have the zoomed sensitivity lowered so I end up unable to aim properly for a few seconds.

I agree with this, it's VERY frustrating trying to resupply gunners when the game decides you want to go into cover instead.

It's very counter-intuitive and I don't bother resupplying gunners in close quarters/near cover any more because of this.

everythin that is double binded should also be availalbe for single action binds, yeap!

Agree 100% with the OP this is a major issue. We're all playing with keyboards here I don't see why they went this route.

Also 100% agree with OP. I would especially like the zoom/sprint buttons separate.

My button set-up in RO1 was logical/efficient in that if I have to take my finger off the fire button to press another button, I'd prefer that button to be a function that I can't do while firing anyways. Hence, I sprint using my mouse wheel tilt. Having zoom on the same key screws all this up, since I would need to have the ability to fire while using the zoom (and hence, sprint) key.

I don't understand why Tripwire would design the controls in a way which the original RO1 fans can't play RO2 in the same manner. Don't even get me started with the lean-while-strafing issue.

I also agree. This is a major issue, imo. Assigning three functions for one key (cover, bandage, use) does not work very well.

hi, thx to flanker15 who has redirect me here
During a game on fallen, i ve been hit while i was near a wall. I immediatly push healing/cover/jump (sry forgot the name for this) but i don t heal myself, i get cover behind the wall, so i push again the key it has just uncover me, in stress i re push again and recover me -_- and just after i die because of bleeding
so i think too that we have to separate them

I agree with this.

Personally I think making left ctrl both snap to cover and crouch, and then making C use/bandage/context sensitive would fix a lot of the problem.
