Opt into the Rising Storm Beta - New Tanks - MG42

As a heads up for those who already installed the beta. Until just now the beta was using the live games Config files. To address this problem please do the following (we are updating this in the beta but for those who already ran it you will need to do this by hand or delete your config files).

Navigate to your Rising Storm Beta install directory and drill into ROGame/Config. It should look something like this: D:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Rising Storm Beta\ROGame\Config. Once there open up the DefaultEngine.ini file and search for the following section:

[Windows.StandardUser]
MyDocumentsSubDirName=

And make it look like this:

[Windows.StandardUser]
MyDocumentsSubDirName=Rising Storm Beta

Then save the folder. The next time you launch the game it should use the right directory.

Guh? INTERESTING. Any details on the changes?

We've made some changes to the values of the weapons and how they penetrate certain types of armor (and hardness values) as well as lowering the amount of damage they do. The Russians can also no longer spawn with the pzb.

We were testing those changes in today's playtest to see if they worked out well, and they seemed to. But we still need to test them against teams that have the heavier tanks over the light tanks (or a mix) and see if those changes have adverse effects to that.

in all fairness, it will make myshkova less of a grief-fest when in the tank :D

from that tanks video, it looked like there was now an sub-limitation for what vehicles you could take to the battle (ie only a couple tankers could take the t-34 and the rest of the pubbies had to make-do with the t-70). Would this be extendable to other roles? It might be nice/useful to limit eg the number of mg42s (or ppsh-es) on the team for some balance fine-tuning :cool:

I hope the balance of the AT rifles has been tweaked to make them equal then?

Otherwise you have created yet another Axis favoured weapon and class, and given another reason for veterans to stack Axis, further imbalancing the game.

Please consider overall game balance for this release. Nothing kills player retention like imbalance.
