RO2 Missing sniper items

No he is not. Having too many animation bones in an item, doubles its draw call count. This is also the reason why we had to remove the character mouth bones and animations.

Well thats a shame I thought it would be simple to do cloth physics in the game or even the games engine Unreal engine 3 could handle it :/

I'm sure you would be surprised how much complexity went into making Batman's cape look right in the Arkham games. I believe one of the devs worked exclusively on the cape and nothing else.

EDIT: Here's my source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman:_Arkham_Asylum
It says:
"Eidos president Ian Livingstone said one developer spent two years programming Batman's cape, using over 700 animations and sound effects to make it move realistically."

What about Nvidia Physx? Does that help at all?

The cape wasn't done through PhysX. I had to disable that because I don't have an Nvidia card and it caused massive frame drops on my end. Plus, the cape looks just as good on the console versions.

What about Mafia 2? I mean, they did use PhysX and they had this Trench Coat on the main character.

In fact, it almost seemed as if Nvidia would pay to 2K for even featuring the PhysX technology, at least so it seemed from the promotions.

I imagine, that there is no real need to make it anything super special if resources don't permit it. I think there are only 1 or 2 snipers per map anyway.

Is this kind of a complication specific for the Unreal Engine 3?

Because, truly if it's really so much work, perhaps it can be delayed until better times...

there is no news. he was just making it up. nothing has been announced about a RO3.
there is a Vietnam mod being made called "in country". go check the mod forums. there's also "Grabenkrieg". a WW1 mod in the works.

Yes, of course!
To be honest I don't know what is there left to improve if a sequel (hypothetically) comes out. Graphics satisfy me, animations are good, it's pretty much where I'd like it to be at - and I would imagine that making a new game would consume even more of a development team's resources wouldn't it?

It's expensive to make AAA games. The mods however are very promising...
