In Web Admin what exactly are "Members"?

I'm new to Tripwire games and I'm trying to figure out the function of the Members listing in Web Admin. It it like a whitelist? Is there a whitelist? Thanks.

Members are players for which the server automatically frees a slot when the member joins the server while it is at maximum capacity.

So is there no whitelist? One of my admins was kicked because someone thought he wasn't doing a good enough job as commander.. he was trying to learn on a not filled server. That's BS. Oh and btw, he wasn't doing that bad a job.

If there were a whitelist then ONLY those on the list could join. That's not really what you want. Add him as a member and he'll be able to join even if the server is full (if its working properly now). If vote kicking is a problem on your server, raise the % needed from the default 33%.

Which brings up a question...With the patch, now that (by default) only those playing on the same side can vote, does 33% mean of the players on that side or of the whole server?

Actually a whitelist is exactly what we need and is the terminology used by other types of game servers. Usually you can add clan tags or individual names to the whitelist to protect a clan or person from kick or ban.

To each his own, I guess. Not the definition I grew up with and the intent in the early days of multiplayer. But then I'm old and haven't kept up in the last 7 or 8 years. Times change .....

The game doesn't allow admins to get kicked. Thus if he is an admin and in game signs in as an admin, then others can't vote kick him out. The members feature also had the option to auto sign in a member as an admin. If configured like that, then the member can't be kicked.

Thanks Ducky.. I realized after I started this that I had put the wrong steam ID in "members" so that was corrected yesterday and now he shouldn't be able to get kicked.
