I really don't understand the hate from some people

now why would you go thinking it would be a free mod? TWI clearly said if it was of good enough quality, you'd have to pay for it. would people be happier if it sucked, so they could get it for free?

Mods are generally free.. now it was clear early on that they were thinking about adding some sort of charge (especially after TWI joined in on the project) but when one hears the word "mod" it is almost always assumed that it won't cost anything. Don't get me wrong- I have no problem with paying for a great game from a great company like TWI, I was just explaining what some peoples' thought process was when they started complaining.

The Steam Forums: The place to go to when you aren't smart enough to find the actual game's forum :p
But it is very convienent to go there instead of searching for the "actual games forum" if you just want to play the game. It's one click away and since we are customers we are allowed to be lazy and not called stupid. I think many people go there just to get a first impression on the game like I do when I think about buying a game. I honestly see no reason for such an elitist attitude.

€: I don't want to blame TWI but if you don't communicate clearly from the start if people have to pay or not then people will just hear what they want and remember that. Yes if you are informed you might know it better but not everyone is as educated on this subject as many people here are.

really? They clearly said early on, that if it was of good quality, we would have to pay for it. Now it's great quality and we have to pay for it. (less than the price of one meal, i might add) it's not twi's fault that people only hear what they want to hear and go out of their way to only understand what they want to when they read something. There's no cure for that. Twi might be awesome but they can't fix stupid.

But I heard it from a guy who talked to another guy that read it on that website that is no longer up that they saw a post from someone who played the game for a few hours that thought it might be free... :D

I actually though RS was going to be standalone!

I am happy to play as a rifleman in RS, ordinarily it would be the only slot available to play anyway, all those specialised slots get eaten up really quickly:D

although I will probably buy the full version because they deserve the money

RS has been great for RO2, I have never seen so many populated servers before!

somehow it also improved my FPS (on all maps), don't understand how that works, but then again framerate works in mysterious ways...

I bought RO2 HoS during beta, I felt a little ripped off as I could not play my game properly for months. They fixed this in time, but with a stat reset involved they annoyed quite a few people. We got over it though.

Tripwire released RS with 40% off for people like me, which was absolutely amazing and showed they really do care. Other game developers/publishers rarely do the same. I don't know why there is anything to complain about. Best $12 I ever spent on an expansion as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks Tripwire!

Just ignore the children.

Ah, look: This kind of negetive dialogue toward the game comes and goes. Most of it comes from people who are simply not truly invested in the game. You'll notice that these sorts of outbursts often spike in the wake of major game offerings. Everybody wants someone's hard work for free. Bah. I cant take that stuff seriously anymore. The lice will go away; the real play-ahs will stay. :D

Not always.

You also have this strange kind of poster that keeps hanging around (for years) and only ****s on the game and ****s on the developers over the same tired issues.

Especially on TW-forums you see these sad people totally destroying games that are not even released yet!

I guess these people don't have much in their life, since they don't just leave and find something else to **** on...
