Beta Map Happy Hour

Happy Hour is a KF2 map depiction of a quiet country inn on the outskirts of Paris; The "Tortured Souls Inn".

This broken Grass material is best replaced by the Dirt material (I believe from Black Forest). It is an easy quick replacement & if you want to add standing grass patches, leaf piles, & rocks you can spruce it up.

I think the potted plants in Biotics lab also have a soil material but it looks very peet-mossy. Anyway, be ceative- there are reasonable subtitutes.

I now played your map for a while and really like the detailed rebuild :)
However the performance was very poor on my machine (gtx970 and I7 6x3.8ghz).
After a look at your map in the editor I found the problem:
The lightning has been done in a very unefficient way and the static meshes are rendered throughout the whole map. Precomputed visibility volumes also should not be used for perfomance improvements on a pc in my opinion.

I fixed all that for my own enjoyment because of the sheer fun I had playing it. I really do not want to criticise you but just wanted better performance :eek:

If you like I can send you this version and you can decide what you do with it.

Just played this, very cool and holds up well to the original. I experienced a couple of issues however:

1. Items appear out of nowhere (chairs, window rails, etc). Assume this is a performance tweak? Or just an engine bug?
2. Bosses, Hans so far get stuck in certain areas, have attached screen shots to illustrate
3. Projectiles disappear - see attached screen

Again, awesome map. Hope you can fix the issues to make it even more awesome :)
