Game Freezes only when playing Overseas

I live in the US and often play on servers in Europe since the # of good servers here in the US is lacking. Since upgrading to Vista I have this new bug that seems to occur at random. If I play on servers with pings higher than 100 or so, the game will freeze and I will have to reboot the machine to get out of the freeze. If I play on a server here in the US with a ping below 100, the game never freezes. Any idea what could cause this??

Ok, I will recheck the video settings and try the mouse smoothing thingy. I did uninstall and then reinstall the game. Since resetting some of the precache items from 31 to 256 to match my ram it has gotten better. It is weird though that this would only happen on higher ping servers. I will report back on any changes after trying what you posted. Thanks.

I have ruled out that it is an overseas problem as it has been happening on servers here in the states.

Why would tracers cause my pc to freeze?????? This seems to be common in all my Log files where my pc froze during the game. I have turned graphics up and turned them all the way down...no difference. Anyone got any ideas??

Items running: Vent, X-fire, Steam, Nod32 Virus.

I have had freezes with both Vent and X-fire turned off, can't disable steam and don't want to disable the Nod32. I suppose I could just to test it with the virus off. I have set my graphics to the defualt setting and had the freeze and set them to the highest settings and had the freeze. I have DirectX 10 installed with the most current signed Vista Nvidia Drivers from their website, released in Dec '07. (I had a beta Driver installed for Crysis, and I still got the freezes in RO and went back to the Signed version after I beat Crysis thinking that was my problem, it wasn't)

It is a weird problem, because after about 3 freezes and reboots, all of a sudden I can get a 5 hour session in no problem. Sometimes, the 1st time I try to play I don't even get a freeze, but when I do, only a reboot will fix the problem, I can get to the Task Manager, but I am unable to end the RO task. Complete freeze on screen with the last audio played just looping. It will let me reboot from the options in the task manager though, but it takes a long time.

The other common warnnings I get in the log are like this. -Warning: MP41Bullet RO-Kaukasus.MP41Bullet (Function ROGame.ROBullet.ProcessTouch:0162) Accessed None 'Instigator'- I get a lot of these "warnnings" in the log file, but I am not sure what they mean, as I will get them even when I don't crash. It is pretty much a clean install of the game now, but I will delete the system folder and try that again. I have adjusted the cachemeg size to 256 for my 2 gigs of RAM and used some of the settings listed under some of the Stickied help items to help maps load faster.

By the way, the game works perfect under my XP boot, only when I boot to Vista do I get this problem. However, my goal is to get everything running in Vista so I only have to boot to it.
