You sound surprised.
You shouldn't be. Firebug makes Fire. Fire Axe is used by people trying to put fires out. Seems a bit daft to add the Fire Axe to Firebug.

Ever since the Pyro was released for KF I have wanted to use flamethrower and fire axe, but it's just not going to happen.

If i remember correctly the FIRE Axe from WTFMut has a flaming axe head skin and fire damage when used by Firebug.
I s'pose you could get it to do what you want, however it'd take downloading a few things first

Yeah, they retextured the head and when you jump down and hit an enemy when falling you cause "Death From Above" and ignite the ZED. I prefered the BanHammer though myself.

Actually, it could be explained that the class is all about controlling fires rather than just starting them. Not that the fire axe actually has anything to do with controlling fire but oh well...
And with that in mind, I think a weapon like a fire extinguisher could be a useful addition. Could be used to damage (and/or maybe stun weaker) specimens at close range and temporarily put out fires in the map, and maps could be made with this in mind to allow areas that you can only access if you have a firebug on your team. Would add a little more variety to gameplay.

The Fire Extinguisher:
Ability to extinguish fires and Husk fireballs.
100 fuel canister.
Firebug will now:
Get in close to a Husk, wait for the Husk to shoot his launcher, then extinguish the fireball in midair, then rinse repeat.
Trolling, at its fire-est.

Obviously firemen get axes for free
its relative so I don't see how you people don't see a connection
