Custom map Butovo-b1

Botovo along with Ogledow are both being played on the 305th Infantrie Divison server right now.

Server IP 217.163.23.130:7777

You have to download the maps and install them before coming to play as the in-game downloader send the server version rather than the client version and DOES NOT WORK.


Hi. Does your server have a password to join? (Because according to gametracker it does??)

With grass like this is very hard to see enemy, if you change Foliage Quality to LOW then you can't see any grass, but you will see enemy at any range!

Grass must be the same for all players!

Worth making a new thread to highlight the need for a server-side 'force grass quality' option. It might not matter on the stock maps, but it won't be long before it starts affecting gameplay.

The map does not cause the crash, it is the game engine, it's allowing for people to connect who don't have the map properly installed/placed in the resource folder.

NULL pointers or some stuff like that I presume.

Maybe put a password on the server, put the password as "ihavemap", then only those that have looked to download the map and certainly have it, will try to connect to the server.

Why foilage quality is an option is really beyond me. It is like having an option for players to adjust how see-through they want the walls.

Foilage should be on full for everybody, and while it may cause problems for low-end computers (like mine), it just simply is a matter of rather crucial gameplay here.

Agreed - and I'd wager you could drop the quality of the foliage further to help older machines, but still have *something* there to block line-of-sight. Even if it's static and doesn't animate at all beyond a set distance (probably in already), it would do the trick. In a sense, foliage is more important than quite a few other map elements, purely because it can block line of sight and obscure players from view.
