A Moment of Nostalgia

As it starts looking like a new dawn for KF, with the new promised TWI firebug weapon, a possibility for more TWI involvment in the near future, the firepound of legend is supposedly on the move (VIP mutator), the wtfmod adding a new style of fun, and many other player-driven movements, its easy to be caught up in the storm.

And with the forums buzzing with more people and ideas than ever, and more players picking up KF, its easy to forget.

But its time to just take even a small moment to stop and smell the roses of our past. The beautiful rags-to-riches story of a modder who worked hard and ascended to the realm of TWI, andthe mod itself, which has not lost its touch.

The earlier days of KF. The many great times of playing. The glorious level-up patch. All that fun and gore over all the times youve played.

And while we cannot be restricted by our memories, and so dilute the even greater future of KF, we need to take a moment. To remember old times. To forget the m14. To forget the flaming and the internet hate, and the server-kicks. And focus on the good times of this game, and of this forum.

So this is a thread for celebrating those many good times, no matter when you picked up the game. And to remember those funny times, those epic moments, those many great emotions that make us human, and make KF great. And to envision all those great times to come.

And :IS2: be with you.

This deserves a like from everyone. :)

Man, I remember when KF was meant to have a physics engine, but it was removed because it ended up as an exploit!

How about when there was extremely heavy screen shake/blur when you get hit by enemies and teammates?

I also remembered my first game on the roof of KF-Offices. :D I joined as a lvl 0 support specialist, I was thrown a shotgun and given a task to help the team survive. And we did. :)

At one point, friendly fire servers seemed very numerous. One person in that server killed me after picking up a pair of handcannons. That person is someone who I would now consider one of my best friends, despite being interwebs.

Been playing KF since the first DLC released like katana and AK47. It was way scarier and more teamwork-based game before the FP and scrake's hitbox for the head was fixed. Still remember the good old times when people were running mad around when the FP was lit red and even if decapitated still able to take down a few more of your friends...

3 things I will never forget about Killing Floor: -

- Playing as a medic with just a syringe and a deagle... money was tight when you had little discount for armour and were in the thick of combat all the time :)

- Getting the orignal mod campaign and crapping myself twice.. then playing YoYoBatty's campaign port and totally crapping myself 6 times... in the first 2 levels. So much so that after I lost the 4th time I couldn't build up the courage to try again xD

I think a remake of that campaign with new textures and working checkpoints would be just totally amazing.

- The Killing Floor story. Really inspired me to the point I wrote out the entire thing. It's truly a work of art, espeically 1 relatively small event snow balls into a truly destructive massacre.

I am planning on redoing all of that with the new Killing Floor maps and details.
