i don't know about need but fortunately a lot of us want a vietnam mod and that's exactly what we are getting.

Battlegrounds is a terrible mod, only made worse by the 8 year olds who stand in a line of 7 men and call it a line battle, arguing about being realistic.

I think there are better games and engines for this, if you are going to make a ACW mod, don't do it for HoS.

IMO, a war like the Russo-Turkish war of 1878 would really be much better than an American civil war mod. The main reason for this is the weapons. While the muskets used during the civil war were rifled, they were still muzzle loaders, and therefore took a while to reload. There were other weapons that were much quicker to reload, of course, but the majority of soldiers had muskets. Just skip 13 years to the Russo-Turkish war and we're at a place where both sides have fairly fast-firing rifles (the Berdan II + variants, as well as other weapons of course, and a great variety of rifles on the Ottoman side.) Just my two cents.
