Something must be lost in translation

Also, one of the comments describes ROOST as a "horny gam"

If they said the "geil" then that would be an older meaning of the word. It's being used to say cool in this case.

EDIT: What I'm noticing about the dead soldier picture is that his gun rests upon his body rather than clipping through to the ground. Nice touch!

EDIT #2: Addressing the occurrence of "balls" they mean bullets. Kugel is another word for bullet, but it also means ball because older weapons fired balls instead of projectiles nowadays shaped like bullets.

Could a native German speaker give us a summary of what this article says? Is there any new information in it?

I'm not a native speaker but here is the gist I got out of it:

  • Up to 64 players
  • Cover system, blind firing, although penetration through cover
  • Commander can call artillery or mortar strikes which has the potential to destroy parts of buildings
  • Commander can call in a reconnaissance plane which shows enemy positions on the map. What I'm gathering though is that it might be possible for the enemy to use their plane against the other, but not entirely sure.
  • Snipers need to control their breath in order to aim well
  • Multiplayer Campaign: continues until all of Stalingrad is conquered. The two sides are given points which they may use to decide their course of action.
  • There are statistics, ranks, and medals, and finally the ability to climb to the Hero status.

No, you can shoot them down however. The recon plane gives the commander the positions of enemies and he can direct this information further to squad leaders. That's what it says.
