My candidate is Guillermo Ochoa.....

1 - he's got lightning reactions

2 - he can use either hand even after he's committed to a jump and is in mid-air

3 - he is not shy of diving at a strikers boots

4 - he is only 22 and already has the back 4 (some 10-15 years older than him) under firm manners

5 - great gymnastic ability

6 - he told Man U where to go

Still not convinced - I think Ochoa will pull off many more saves of top quality in the years until he is the age of Van der Sar in most of those clips.

Look at the statistics. 700 Apps and 1 goal. Ochoa will have an extremely hard time beating that. Being goalie is not about top quality saves. Those play an important role. Its about keeping the zero.

You do know that that is not how many goals got past him in his career right?

Not even building a brick wall across the goal mouth would mean only one goal gets in in 700 games.

Goalies ocasionally score goals - surely that figure is that he scored once.
