Allowing for heroism........

Allowing for heroism, interesting idea I like it, but who exactly is to be the judge?
I too would like to see some type of point system, ranking or medal system implemented, how could it be done well?
Some ideas please....
Not every single act of heroism is there for any particular individual to witness..
Could we give the commander class a longer spawn time than the rest of the classes to allow him a chance to witness his soldiers fighting as the battle progresses? To view and judge any possible acts of valor or selflessness for the cause?
And at the end of the round let the commander disperse a limited amount of medals or points as he see's fit...military based rankings or medals that would show up on a possible stats page or something?
Ideas please..:)

Great idea as well as tossing granades back, both features should be implemented. It is quite hard to pickup granade size object and takes time, laying over granade is much faster. Make both options available so it will be players choice is he heroically laying over granade or covardly trying to throw granade away, succesfully throw back would be heroic, but failing to do it is covardly :) Though no points awarder when sacrificing your self, but points would be added if you could toss granade back succesfully, only enemy kills should score points.

Seeing as most nades are cooked, it really wouldn't be a good idea for tossing grenades back. You would probably end up with a huge amount of fried skin, and a missing hand.
