PS3 fans quit jobs and postpone engagement to wait in line

Burbank (CA) - People are willing to go through hell to get the upcoming Sony PlayStation 3 console and there are already lines forming for November 17th launch. We went to the Best Buy store in Burbank where people started lining up on Monday November 6th, 11 days. Watch our video as one guy explains how he quit his job to stand in line, while another won't be buying his girlfriend an engagement ring anytime soon.

People are pretty stupid to quit there jobs just to get a PS3. I am actually surprised there are that many people waiting for PS3. One of the Editors of the PSM (playstation magazine) decided to buy a 360 over PS3.

I can't understand why some people have to have something the day it comes out. This happened with the XBox 360. It's not like they won't be everywhere in 6 months. I know a guy a work who's going to stand in line for the Wii.

I just don't get it. If you wait a few months, they'll not only be cheaper, but more easily avaliable and they might even have more games.

But what I really don't get is why anyone wants the PS3. Wii, yes. Xbox360, mm just about. but PS3?

See now thats interesting. The Wii will be absolutely everywhere after 6 months (in fact Nintendo are planning on having loads available upon release, and there after) I doubt you could say the same for the PS3.

Just looked it up, US is set to get 400,000 PS3's on release day.

Wasn't there news that some shops only gets 6 PS3's and so on? I don't understand why so many are waiting for them, I mean 400 000 consoles spread in all of those shops can't have plenty of PS3's on launch. So isn't it kinda worhtless to wait if you are the last ones? Or are there only some shops that actually gets the PS3 on launch date?

Other than that I don't understand why wait THE PS3. I could understand waiting Xbox360 when it was released or PS2 back then. But PS3 offers only graphics and Gears Of War on Xbox360 must look better than all of those PS3 launch titles.
