why would i want to do a stupid thing like uninstalling my firewall??

Im not uninstalling a firewall to give hackers free access to a computer lol..testing should have been done to avoid obveous problems like this, can only hope a patch solves things or a new update for zonealarm in colaberation with the dev's

Seriously, what is the use of ranting it won't get your problem solved faster.

Beside you're asking the devs to respond to every individual problem?, what game ever did that. Usually the game gets released and the devs are just lost in action.

Anyway to be back on topic, you must not close down zonealarm you must uninstall it. And its a problem in ZoneAlarm not Red Orchestra, that causes your computer to reboot.

I've personally experienced that anything older than 6.1 works: you can download those older versions here:

Download ZoneAlarm Free - 8.87 MB
http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/fre...60_631_003.exe
Download ZoneAlarm Pro - 8.87 MB
http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/fre...60_631_003.exe
Download ZoneAlarm with Antivirus - 12.8 MB
http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/fre...60_631_003.exe
Download ZoneAlarm Security Suite - 21.7 MB
http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/fre...60_631_003.exe
Download Zone Labs IMsecure - 3.53 MB
http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/fre...etup_15_39.exe

But keep it kalm, and read the forums. Everybody knows you want the game to run. But creating a new thread for your personal problem won't let it be fixed earlier, post it all in thesame post that way they can atleast soo how big teh problem is. And especially with this bug you have to wait for zonealarm not the devs they can't even do anything about it.

This is a forum everybody without a yellow name is NOT a dev, but just community trying to help people out. And yes it can become irritating when 20 people with thesame problem post without searching first, and start yelling at us while we just try to help. Sometimes people just snap.

a software firewall isn't going to help against any hackers if they want to get in they'll get in. And as i said this is purely a problem with zonealarm not with ro. A firewall should let good programs pass and stop bad programs, if it doesn't do that it's faulty.

You can use other free firewalls with less problems, or just use an old version of zonealarm.

I have ZA and I was a beta tester and the game ran and still runs fine. The ZA patch came out a day or two before RO was set to release and up until the game was released the game was running fine. There are lots of other free firewalls that you can use till the patch comes out. You have a temporary work around, you can use it or you cannot use it.

Once again, read the the known issues/fixes before starting your own personal rant threads. We don't need 25 different threads saying "I won't uninstall ZA" either. We have already stated elsewhere that we are working with Zone Labs to get this issues addressed. However the ball is in thier court on this issue, as the crash has been traced to thier drivers.
