The German team logo has to change.

Well its banned if they think its Promoting Facist Ideology.

There are a lot of German Movies with Swastikas in it. (Das Boot, Stalingrad (?), Der Untergang)

Yes, because they are considered educational which a video game is not.

If the context where a swastika appears (the game) is considered to be pro-facsist it's sure gonna be forbidden even without showing the actual swastika.

Actually movies are not considered Educational they are considered Entertainment. That's like saying Inglorious Basterds is educational because it has Swastikas in.

Black Ops has swastikas in Nazi Zombies and the Russian campaign segment, they've simply been removed for the German edition and replaced with iron crosses, voil

Have you honestly never played a game which you learnt from?

Any number of history-based RTS' or grand strategy titles (or even to an extent, FPS') fall into this category.

I wasn't expressing my own opinion but what the responsible persons in Germany think about the topic. They might think that it's due to the nature of playing you won't be able to fully realize the historical backgrounds and severity of WW2 and National Socialism etc.

I may agree with you. Movies simply still have a different value in our society. Afterall I think Inglorious Basterds makes fun of Nazis and thus is tolerated. Otherwise German authorities would be labeled Pro-Nazi if they'd prohibit a movie like this.

the swastika was the symbol of the nazi party, not of germany or the german army.

I think he means they should use Swastikas where the Swastikas are needed.

A few examples.
- Swastikas on Medals
- Swastikas on Uniforms
- Swastikas on Plane Rudders

For the team logo I think the Balkankreuz should be used.
Spoiler!

Can anyone name a (mainstream/non-cult) movie which is considered pro-Nazi?

I can't say I've seen one.

I'm not sure if you're reading what I'm writing...

The eagle sitting on the swastika was the symbol of the Wehrmacht.

well actualy the germans in the game are from the wheremacht wich is the german army(under the name 3rd Reich back then), The SS is from the nazi party so soldiers in the whermacht where nazis but not all of them so putting a swastika would not be right unless the SS was in Stalingrad
(someone look it up please)
the best would be to put in a iron cross
but i would like to see this one it was on the helmet of some german forces

Having a Swastika on your uniform doesn't mean you are a complete Nazi.. Even soldiers who weren't complete nazis would still have Swastikas on thier uniforms.

The only person I can remember who was so Anti-Nazi he refused to wear his Medals and he was a Luftwaffe Ace.
