Hi, I can't get past my Splash screen 9 out of 10 times I try for weeks (months?) now.

I am a big fan of RO series and have been playing since the mod, but this is sincerely getting ridiculous.

All the log files didn't help? Common TWI, you must look for a solution for this. It's not normal people buy a game and they can't play it 9 out of 10 because it wont even launch? The hell is that about?

Gamers have uploaded "Launch logs", and "dmp files" as asked!

I personally have asked for any other way to create a launch log since the method offered here by PUTZ didn't work for me.
I am willing to try anything offered and have stated this fact in several different threads but they are always ignored.

Headed for 2 months and absolutely no solution or even a response to our plea's!

I have to assume that:

1-TWI has no one with the technical ability or knowledge to resolve this issue.
2-TWI has no one who will devote the time to sort through the issue.
3-TWI just plain doesn't care about resolving this issue or doesn't care about gamers who are affected.

To TWI's credit, they have released some patches that have helped with a few issues for some.
But, those same patches have also broken the game for many who were previously able to run the game and are now in the same situation as the other gamers in this thread, or the game has been made unplayable in other ways for many.

There is no other business I know of where a manufacturer can get away with releasing an unfinished product in this condition.
There would already be a class action lawsuit against any such company.

All we are asking, Tripewire, is that someone there make an honest effort to sort this issue, and at least offer some suggestions that we can try.
As I have stated many times, I am willing to try anything you ask to create a launch log or to launch the game.

Is that really too much to ask after you have already accepted our money for the price of this game???

I know a lot of you are experiencing a freeze/hang/lockup soon after the RO2 splash screen appears. We need to know more about why it's stopping.

The first step is to enable your log.

To do this, go to Steam > Library > Right-click on RO2 > Properties > Set Launch Options

In the launch options window add "-log" without the quotes. Close and move on to part 2.

We also want you to unsuppress some logging information. If your game actually launches, it probably won't run very well. Again, this is mainly for people who actually get stuck at the screen all the time.

Navigate to documents\mygames\redorchestra2\rogame\config and open ROEngine.ini.

Scroll down and you'll find a section with a lot of Suppress lines like so:

Suppress=DevAnim
Suppress=DevAssetDataBase

Please add a semi-colon in front of every Suppress line so it looks like this:

Once that is done, save the file and launch the game.

You should see a ton of logspam. This is normal. If it hard locks again or just sits there, please navigate to the log window itself and hit Ctrl+C to close it down gently.

Once that is done, please attach your .log and any .dmp files that are created in a post down below. Do not cut and paste.

I have followed all of the instructions that PUTZ posted.
I do get the DOS type screen with lines of text, but I never get past the splash screen, so my log folder is empty.

C:\Documents and Settings\Default\My Documents\My Games\RedOrchestra2\ROGame\Logs

As you can see, the log folder is here .. but empty.
Lots of other gamers have posted the same problem.

Still waiting for another idea.

So bored of this problem now.

I've tried launching the game 11 times in the last half hour to see what the latest patch did - but the game won't run at all at the minute.

EDIT: Gave up after 12 attempts. Will try later to see how the rest of RO2 is running for me with the latest patch.

This started happening after the second patch for the Beta ffs! Sometimes the game starts immediately, most of the time the launch takes several attempts - always hanging on the splash-screen.

So TW, how about a little more effort for the large number of us who are struggling to even get in the game, let alone enjoy the rest of the potential issues regarding bugs and gameplay?

Frustration isn't a strong enough word.
