Well I have played alot of games over the years, including the original RO from the very beginning, that had problems too btw with crashing and the tweaking required at the start was annoying. Im an old timer compared to some of you, I remember having to activate sound functions in DoS to get games to work with sound and a time before proper GPU cards when all graphics functions where on board the mobo! ( yes Im that old)
However,I think this has to be one of the worse crashfests I have ever experienced, the soul crushing thing is that I can be playing fine and then *bam* crash, then its crash, crash, crash at random points, booting the game, joining a map, changing a map, half way through a map..it's all so random, and frankly when you have a game that relies on saving of points and stats in order to progress, and then you crash on your best game in ages, it just sucks the whole enjoyment out of your time and effort. I think I have had one chance to play this game for more than 30 mins just after the last patch, since then, randomly, its just crashing, so I think It's safe to say that there is a fundamental problem with the way the game runs on a number of PC's, more than you would expect from a piece of software that is properly tested in my opinion.
I am a working guy, I want to come home, play a game for a while, get some progress and know my time was well spent doing something I enjoy, but frankly when I spend more time looking at crash logs and forums trying to get a game to function via tweeks then I ever do actually playing, I think I would rather do something else on a game that doesn't require this much effort.
What kind of software requires you to install the whole OS in order to have a chance to function

, I admire people who will go to these lengths to play a game but there lies the road to insanity, what next, buying new components, GPU's, where does it end?
I think TWI should just admit this game was not ready to be shipped and offer some time frame for when they, if ever, are likely to have a working product that I paid my hard earned money for.
