tank penetration and shattering

You just made it sound like you don't want them playing this game at all if they play the ones you listed.

Not at all, everyone is welcome, but if they don't like it because it's not enough like the other games their used to, well then they fortunately have other options.

But well shoot, I might as well restate what I said a year ago to you. You wont notice the difference, therefore not really worth changing and fudging up range calcs. :p

Fudging up? It's a simple matter of changing some figures to the correct real world values and then adjusting the sights on the guns for the new trajectory.

Also I definitely do and will notice a difference on the bigger maps that we're starting to see, because as you likely know range exacerbates and makes noticable differences in dispersion & ballistic coefficients.

Thus at very long ranges the unrealistic advantage that for example the ingame MN1891/30 enjoys in both accuracy & bullet flight time over the K98 will actually be noticeable. A rather irritating departure from reality as here long range accuracy and bullet flight time is all in the K98's favor.

The really sad part is that the lack of velocity over distance will be felt on all German weapons chambered in 7.92x57 ingame.

And we're not talking a small difference either, the BC that TWI is using ingame atm is akin to that of a round nosed soft point hunting projectile, not a pointed full metal jacketed boat tail projectile.

Note: Even slight differences in bullet flight time will easily be detected in an FPS game where quick & precise aiming corrections are constantly being applied. Hence why the milisecond response time of a mouse is so important.

the thread you started about TWI's design decisions wrt firearm ballistics is this way.

For the record, this thread was about armour penetration feedback and how it seemed even more guessy after the mg42 patch than before
