Re-enactment photos

the fat-ness of many reenactors is what spoiled the movie "saints and soldiers" for me, in some scenes where you are supposed to see soldiers from KG peiper 1.ss, basically the uber elite of the german army, tough veterans who have fough non-stop for many years. you see that many figurants are obviously reenactors who brought their own equipment, half of them were fat or really to old and the other half was basically obese.
if i was fat, i would never agree to take part in a movie to portray real soldiers out of respect and dignity

what reenactors do in private is their business, i have no problems at all with that.

I have to disagree, KG Peiper was built up mostly with young inexperienced soldiers (even Luftwaffe groundforces transfered in the WaffenSS). That was also why the "malmady massacre" happened. Not

how stupid could i be to take these guys for fallshirmjagers, the only luftwaffe "groundforces" serving in peipers KG was a fully motorised luftwaffe Flak battalion, to protect his column from allied aircraft. equipped with stuff like wirbelwind tanks... http://www.ss501panzer.com/Wirbelwind_Stoumont.JPG

peipers tanks continuously carried a battalion of fallschirmjagers around from the FJR6, who actively took part his battles, and played a big role in the capture of stoumont.
