Paradox Interactive Thread

I'm currently at a point where "The Sun never sets in the German Empire." >_>
Unfortunately, I can't zoom out all the way to show everything. I'll compile an image later, I guess.

United States is essentially crippled; the bulk of their army is in West Africa, their supply depots there were seized, the bulk of their navy has been sunk, I have approximately twice the size of the USAF (87 to 43), their army was crippled by the 1943/4 North African campaign, New York was destroyed by a nuclear ICBM (on July 4 no less), and the Wehrmacht controls the eastern seaboard and inland as far as Chicago, all by October 1945.

Hmm, let's see...
Wehrmacht is 409 divisions strong, with Semi-Modern Medium Tanks, Mechanized Infantry '45, Motorized Infantry '44, and Semi-Modern Infantry '45.

The Luftwaffe is 87 air divisions strong, with turbojet dive bombers, interceptors, and fighters.

The Kriegsmarine has 5 carriers, 4 Bismarck-class battle ships, 4 Battlecruisers, 6 Heavy Cruisers, 19 Light Cruisers, 49 Submarine flotillas, and something like 35 destroyer flotillas.

I say, I'm rather proud.

Where were you at that time Manstein :p

That guy is insane, but, he did a lot of things I regret having not done, one of the major things being failure to produce carriers earlier, I don't think my first was ready until '42, and it was a Great War air carrier. In my campaign, I've learned the power of aviation, both for ground support and in the navy. I really need to load up some of my games and take screenshots, like in the sunk ships part of statistics, there were nearly two full page scrolls of Allied ships and then Sunk By: Aircrafts. Battleships, carriers, cruisers, a whole lot.

One thing I did do is put heavy emphasis on industry and production, made sure I always had an administrative genius as my armaments minister, used a Prince of Terror (Himmler) for 15% in foreign usage, and later on, Hans Oster as Intelligence, for +5%. So, generally I had 200 more IC than I had base IC like it is unused/available/base in the corner. With assembly line techs (Small arms, vehicle, and aircraft all by June 1940), I could quickly churn out the best of everything for both quantity and quality. My approach to industry is a sort of "raw power" deal. The more I have of it, the more I can produce, the more I can supply, ease of upgrades, and the ability to destroy dissent by quickly going over to consumer goods. (Seems as though in what you provided Troels, that player did something similar by quickly seizing a lot of surrounding nations. I tend to 'play it by the book' until the war actually breaks out in '39).

But yeah...I'll try to compile a screenshot of the world according to EvilHobo.

lol, I did that once, Nazi Argentina is pretty fun. When the US takes notice though, look out

Yeah, they cancelled their non-agression pact when I DOW'd Uruguay. Actually, the political leaning of my Argentina is Paternal Autocrat and I'll most likely join the allies in ww2. Although national socialist = No dissent for declarations of war.

Just got Doomsday, and it looks pretty awesome. My favorite part is adding an AI controlled trade governor you can activate, so you don't have to keep messing around with those annoying trade proposals. The espionage system looks pretty complex, it'll take a while to figure out how to use it effectively. I'm also trying to figure out if they've made any dramatic changes to the combat systems, I remember they fiddled with some stuff back in one of the HOI2 patches that changed how submarines and carriers affected battle - I'm wondering if the super-substack still works against enemy fleets, or if they get crushed by destroyers and naval bombers.

What I'm really hoping for is better AI systems, for example being able to make peace with the Allies or Axis without completely annexing them. Or have the German AI actually launch an effective Sealion and take over Britain.

Ive just wrapped my first ever german victory on HOI2, my panzer divisions finally reached singapore (taking everything between that and home) I held 150+ anglo-american divisions at gibralter, till I v2'ed the infrostructure to 0 and waited till they had 0 org and wiped them out, U.k is mine, russia is at peace with me (after I took a huge chunk of their land) the only problem is the yanks. Due to having to navy Ive just had to sit back and nuke them. And thats my story basically. I think we should organise an MP game soon, though Ive never done one before so I think Ill have to be the US...... :)

Started my first Doomsday game, and decided to try something different: Pax Britannia II, a National Socialist Britain retaking its ancient empire.

Early on I got lucky with some events, so by Febuary 1937 Britain was already a facist state. When Ireland demanded the return of Belfast, I decided to bring them back into the fold and invaded them, annexing the country in less than a week. When France protested I banned them from the Allies, leaving them on their own. Germany decided not to bother Czechoslovakia (no Sudetenland, no Case Gruin), and took Poland with no interference from the Allies. At that point I'd built up a small force of armor and motorized infantry, and trimmed back the British navy to an effective, modernized core. I figured it best to take on the greatest threat first, so I decided the bring the rebellious American colonies back under the British crown.

On April 30, 1940 seventeen British divisions landed on the New Jersey shore, quickly taking New York City and Newark. Armored spearheads split up, heading for Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Boston and Washington, D.C.

The Americans were quick to respond, sending the Atlantic Fleet against the main core of the British Royal Navy. Over 110 warships dueled off the Chesapeake coast for over a week. The American carriers were outnumbered three to one, however, resulting in a crushing loss. The Americans lost 2 carriers, 9 battleships, and 12 heavy cruisers to only three British ships lost. The Atlantic has become British territory.

Three weeks later and almost the entire East Coast has fallen, with British armor on the Mississippi River. Only light resistance was encountered around Washington, Norfolk and Ohio, while in the south units continue to advance unopposed. The only real suprise was when Brazil entered the war on the side of the US, however it only means extra territory for me in the end :D .

For you Troels:

This is from HOI1, one of my many games as Germany. I managed to conquer all of Soviet Union, the middle east, and India and Burma and I conquered most of China as well.

After the defeat of France I invaded Norway and Sweeden and Finland as well. After I defeated the SU I invaded the Brittish Home Isles. I build up my Naval Bombers for this along with BBs and Cruisers.

After the UK was beat, I decided it was time to take on the sleeping giant. I invaded the USA. The landings went without a hitch and I expanded the beachhead. I landed in South Carolina and Georgia (lighty defended). However the US counter-attacked me and pushed me into a tight spot, I thought I was going to loose my entire invading force, wich was quite strong and big. About 40 divisions so far. So I landed another force a little to the north and attacked the American flank, theis freed up my forces and after that I was unstopable.

So that is what the map looks like after all my endevours.

Definite lack of EU2 in here...

I'm playing as the Hungarians (the big blue-green blob ;) ), using the AGCEEP mod. Its the 1470s and I've done pretty well, I only lost one war so far when the Turks invaded with +110 thousand troops in the early 1460s, and my former ally Austria decided to stab me in the back. I let the Turks take my border territories while I crushed Austria into vassalhood, then ten years later when the Turks invaded again I pushed them back across the Bosphorus. I actually had control of eastern Turkey before they gave me their remaining territories in the Balkans for peace. Now I'm fighting Milan and Switzerland, of all countries

what is that game?!?!
