Killing Floor 2 Perk Speculation

I was replying to his:
Perhaps there may be a perk that is almost dedicated to applying little buffs to players in its skill tree?"

I actually suggested team buffs a page back, something like a commando giving a +8% buff to his own damage, or a +2% buff to party damage. +2% is obviously better overall, but will result in yourself being comparatively worse. I think something like that would fit.

That doesn't sound very fun to play to me, at all. Completely passive benefits, they'd better have some pretty crazy weapons if the rest of the class is just that.

Talked about a couple pages back already, but I don't see why not to reiterate:

Scientist class! Scientist class! Helpfully inject experimental drugs into your teammates for buffs AND blast things with awesome if unreliable prototype science-weapons! Lasers, electrical guns, things that hose glowy green chemicals! :D

This isnt borderlands. Passive perk bonuses like its been since the first Killing floor please.

i dont want spinning attacks for zerkers, or adrenaline syringes for medics, or push abilities for support specialists. :|

It's gonna be an LMG perk and Energy Weapons perk, IMO

Energy Weapons perk would be a nice way to add things like the ZED gun in, a person focused in Plasma/Laser/shock wave technology to kill Zeds. Laser targeting system for others to see the highlighted threat, slow down the threat or open it to more damage. Gatling Lasers to shred weaker zeds, Cryo bombs to freeze enemies into place or slow them down considerably. Shockwave cannons to blast Zeds back and buy time, etc.

What would you think about a Riot Shield based class? Use of small one-handed guns or one-handed melee, can block husk fireballs and barf sprays and push Zeds around... but slow and vulnerable to getting attacked too much at once (can be flanked easily when outnumbered, shield grabbed by clots, staggered back by fleshpounds, etc.)

A lot of folks have said 'LMG gunner' for one of the classes for a while now, but I'm not convinced that's something they could flesh out enough to make a whole class (versus just giving Commando an LMG or two as higher-tier sidegrades)

Primarily, are there enough notably different LMGs to fill up four separate tiers PLUS side-grades?

Would an LMG Gunner have any definining characteristics or abilities besides carrying the specific type of gun?

I'm not opposed to it, per say, I'm just skeptical.

Screw that, a Riot shield perk? Ye-no, we're not gonna have a character focused entirely on ONE WEAPON. besides, we already have something that blocks hits from deadly creatures: The Medic and the Zerker. Plus, it forces the person to get into the Zerker's region of killing, up close. NO, we do not need two people arguing in the front, we get enough of that as is in the BACK. Further more, if he blocks their hits, doesn't the shots from us also get blocked? That's super duper stupid and annoying. Riot Shields are only useful with people in the back using Lobbed weaponry (Grenade launchers), so yes, it's not very viable.
