7.92(or 8)x33mm is/was "kurzpatrone." Translation: "short bullet" (basically?).
Either way, that's one cool-looking carbine.

M1941 Johnson is to M1 Garand, as _________ is to Sturmgewehr 44.
Except this never made it to production. The one in the pic. was never even blued.
