Duke Nukem Forever - OMGWTF, IT'S ACTUALLY RELEASED!?!

Thanks to the latest issue of OXM and courtesy of Duke4.net, we have our first details on what to expect from the multiplayer component of Duke Nukem Forever. Don't expect to see any persistent level progression or crazy killstreaks here, it's pure old-school with Duke.

- 8 player (4 vs 4) games (This may only be for the consoles as PC details may not have been revealed in OXM)

- 4 game modes
-- Dukematch
-- Team Dukematch
-- Capture the Babe (capture the flag)
--- Occasionally the "babe" will start to freak out as you're capturing her, calming her requires a "gentle smack"
-- Hail to the King (king of the hill)

- 10 MP maps at launch
-- Includes Dukeburger, Morning Wood, Vegas Casinos, and more

- Jetpack in some maps, not in single player campaign
- Holoduke same as in Duke3D only now Duke himself will be cloaked while active
- Steroids allow for one hit melee kills, cannot use weapons
- Effects of the shrink ray includes a 90% weapon damage reduction
- "Confirmed weapons; pistol, shotgun, ripper chaingun, pipebomb, rpg, shrinker, railgun, freezer, devestator, tripbomb. Can only use 2 primary weapons at once along with pipebombs and tripbombs."
-- Tripbombs may be planted on enemies

- "As you kill other players you gain experience points, which, when acquiring enough of them, you can spend the points on customizing your Duke. Basic kills get basic points, but specialty one time achievement kills like killing someone when using the holoduke or funny kills like killing yourself with the pipebomb by accident, gives you bonus points."

Undoubtedly this is only the tip of the multiplayer iceberg that we're going to hear about. Expect more information soon on the multiplayer experience and hopefully some additional details on the PC multiplayer and if it differs at all from the console MP.

Wait, who the **** was offended by the *** slapping thing? In a Duke game? Seriously? How is that an unbelievable admission? I guess now video game oriented websites have to cater to every advocacy group to ensure nobody thinks they encourage such a shocking feature! A slap on the ***! gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasp!
Yeah it's silly. Especially given the fact that all that stuff being in the game is the POINT of Duke Nukem. By being offended they are not only missing the point, they are also ruining the fun.

YOU CAN'T SLAP WOMEN ON THE ***! It's repulsive! Here, melt some more faces off of people with a plasma-squirting rifle or spill some more guts with your trusty shotgun, but come on, slapping women - on the ***, no less!
You gotta draw the line somewhere, and I draw it right above caving people's heads in with boots and right below "reassuring slaps"!

It's not just the violence, it's the idea that the women need to be physically disciplined just to knock some sense into their poor feeble brains.

Nevermind the fact that a war is being fought over women like they're a natural resource. Nobody cared about that before.
Seriously, a little discipline here and there never hurt anyone. And it is the babes that we're fighting for, after all.
