Gunslinger Perk - Yes or No?

Gunslinger Perk - Yes or No?

This thread LIVES!!!

As long as its correctly balanced and has a unique benefit, I'd be happy to see the Gunslinger. Although I really want it to have a different name... I can't think of one that hasn't already been mentioned, but to me Gunslinger just seems so... cheesy :)

I won't repost my suggested stats as I remember I already argued the crap out of what I felt would be balanced for it. Plus I'm still exhausted from arguing about the Berserker (thank god that debate has been resolved, and is into discussion now) :p

Why don't we just lock this thread, and post everything that has been discussed and changed in a new thread.

The OP hasn't been around (i guess) or edited the first post of this, so anyone who wants to find out more has to read through this giant ****ing monster.

Making a new post and porting everything suggested over into one master post will generate better responce and less repition in ideas and or disapproval.

It wouldn't be a bad idea, but last time someone tried, the post was merged into this thread instead. Also, if we're hit with the same baseless arguments again in that thread, I'm gonna say that the people who do make me feel physically ill and should be beaten with repeatedly with hammers until they're so braindead that they'll only be recieving coloring books for Christmas the rest of their lives.

Makes me wish there was an 'epic poster' title which is like, a normal member but when they make threads, they can set it so that only posts they allow will show up.

That way, **** storms are kept at bay. But then again, that's what mods are f- *71 page thread* nvm. Yeah, only trusted people who actually contribute anything to threads should be given it.

I fail to see any good arguments against a Gunslinger perk that haven't already been countered by the A+ posters of this forum such as Jester, Candlejack, Timur and BrPhoenix (I haven't seen BP online for ages :c).

I heard one argument that said that a GS will be too much like TF2.

I fail to see any good arguments for a silly perk that doesn't exist in any armed force in real life, and uses inferior weaponry when guns like the SCAR and AA12 are available. Not to mention the fact that it doesn't bring anything new to team play.

So you don't like the Firebug then?

Firebug meets most of the criteria listed.

I'm not sure there's an actual type of soldier that specialises in that kind of stuff, but as a temporary 'role' it's far more realistic (and useful) to send a flamethrower-equipped soldier into battle rather than some guy with a pair of pistols. And yes, the firebug does contribute to team play. You can't really consider his weapons 'inferior' to the likes of the SCAR and AA12 since they have a completely different use; unlike pistols.

Huh...I wasn't aware modern militaries actually had guys running around decapitating people with katanas, axes, and chainsaws. Or Medics that bring people from near-death to perfect health in just seconds by shooting them in the *** with magic healing darts. :p

You're right about the former, the berserker is also a silly, non-teamplay perk (see the complaint thread on that :)), but there is such a thing as a medic in real life.

I've been behind the Gunslinger from the beginning (or since I saw it) :p
I believe the revolvers are a better option, sounds quite interesting.
Of course the pistols are going to be different to use? I don't understand how they couldn't be different from another perk? I belive the contribution to the team will be the increased mobility during zed time, this will allow them to cleanup an area while in the safety of slow-mo but without exceptional power.

I don't believe that they should get an increased chance at zed time though because that I agree would get annoying. It would stagger the game-play far too much.

And yes, another thread with updated information would be nice. I never knew there were threads this large...:eek:

No, the pistolero perk is already in game and called sharpshooter.

You want to put the 9mm and Hancannon into this perk but the single HC is already my main weapon when I am playing sharpshooter.

A revolver would be very fun but that's all.
The perk doesn't seems to bring anything new to teamplay. Just sound like a mix of commando and sharpshooter.

We've already discussed this millions of times... Jesus christ, someone willing to do it should write up a whole summary of arguments and their counter arguments or something.
