Today, I'm going to tell you why ManEater will be a huge improvement over Jaws Unleashed. Before ManEater, Jaws Unleashed was hailed as the best shark game in the industry but ManEater is putting that game to shame with some small quality of life improvements as well as some very huge ones.

Let's discuss:

Controls
-If there is one thing that everyone can agree on, it's that Jaws Unleashed had some of the worst controls in gaming history. Tripwire took note of this to make sure that ManEater always feels good and it shows.

The Almost Metroidvania Open World
- While Jaws Unleashed was very linear in map design, ManEater does not restrict players in any way. The regions are never confining, even though you are meant to reach each one as you grow and gain new abilities, you can technically reach any if you find a way to do so. This means, you can go to places that you are meant to later, early on if you're good enough.

The enemies actually have depth
- Enemies in Jaws Unleashed were loke a bag of rocks but in ManEater, we have an almost Dark Souls feel. Enemies have personality, feel organic and have a range of animation. Jaws Unleashed feels very robotic in comparison, here's an example:

Deep customization
-Customization and upgradability is something that ManEater takes very seriously. You can alter everything from your head, fins, body, tail and on top of that swap out your adapatations and evolutions. This also means your apparence changes.

Adaptations
-Adaptations are basically new forms for your shark. You aren't going to see the shark be morphed into a Terminator or anything like that, instead these are adaptations such as giving your shark bones or bio- luminescence.

A World Filled With Life
-One thing you're going to noticed is that ManEater fills alive, the world is populated in such a way that Jaws Unleashed wasn't and this may be due to technological jumps through the years but expect ManEater to not feel empty.

The Map Screen
-As we all know, a good Map Screen is a great way to further way to inmerse yourself in the game. Here you'll find useful information and lore on locations, enemies and more.

Day/Night Cycle
-Jaws Unleashed sadly missed out on this but ManEater has a beautiful full day/night cycle that affects land where you can see lights from carnivals, docks and lighthouses and even affects the ocean beneath.

Ecology
-Like Monster Hunter World, ManEater makes good use of ecological systems. You'll see animals fight each other, humans engaing in activity. You might see an alligator stealthily kill an animal or human.

Also

Graphics are a ton better under water.

Water is much deeper. In JU it was so shallow it was too easy to come above the surface.

I think they confirmed in the question thread you wouldn't see any other predators eating fish and they also said other animals wouldn't try to eat your catch.
True, Jaws Unleashed was a great game back in the hayday but boy did it age poorly. I think ManEater will age very nicely though.
