Why apparently verified Killing Floor Servers don't give achievements

Hi,

I'm wondering why some Killing Floor servers, fail to give any achievements at all, while others do.

I can appreciate whitelisted maps and perks-enabled etc, but this happens on a server by server basis - and I have all the "perk-enabled", "anti-cheat" etc options enabled, in the interface, when I search for servers

For example, this server http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/119.252.191.97:7715/
never gives me an achievement for completing a map that I know I haven't got.

Yet another server, always does http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/103.13.101.23:7709/

I've tried several times now, on various servers. I've completed Farm on suicide twice, but still don't have the achievement.

But if I go onto a server, I know to get them on, I always get the achievement when I've earned it... so it's something about the server.

How can I know what is causing this?

The servers that dont give achievements probably have vacsecure=0 unknowingly. It used to be default like that for some reason and the server host hasnt changed that setting or needed to re-install the server.

I don't think the reinstalling is the best thing is needed. But when you cannot localize the problem, nothing left for you. If you talking about VAC it can be easily turned on by changing server commandline.

Are you running KF on Linux?

I have run into an interesting issue when I had my own server. There was one friend that was not getting achievements while everyone else on the server was. All mutators were whitelisted, but for some reason, was not being registered as such for those running linux.

The problem was solved by a batch script that converted the mutators in the cache folder into .u files into the system folder. If you believe that is the issue, I can dig up the workaround/script that was discovered.

Sometimes servers run non-whitelisted mutators which prevent unlocking of achievements. Connect to this server, close kf and check your Clientlog (KillingFloor.log @ killingfloor\System) for "Security" entries. If you find any, this is probably the (or one of multiple) reason(s) why you run into this problem.

I can confirm this, I played a few games the other day on bedlam and sirens blench and didn't get any achievements


I'm not sure if they were vanilla but perks and vac were on, was very disappointing
