Why all this hate against MKB42?

I have never really tested the mkb42 for its 1 shot lethality I have noticed tho it doesn't seem to penetrate walls like a rifle round. The few times I have used it I used it as a assault weapon and fired bursts or sprayed from the hip.

My problem with the mkb42 isn't the mkb itself (it was a very effective gun) the worlds first assault rifle. Its the number of them on a 64 man server.Again I would love to see the elite assault class return this would remedy the problem.

My biggest problem(about the only one) is the accuracy of smg rounds at extended ranges 150-300m being a pistol round. That's an argument for another thread and I have already exhausted my views on this lol.

Realistic...and that means that thing should be a darn rarity and hardly ever seen in game.

Wrong. If it is there, it would be there in the correct numbers, not rare. You don't send a weapon out to be tested in ways that it won't normally be used. The weapon was intended to replace both the SMG and the rifle and would be given to all non-specialist (marksman, grenadier, gunner) soldiers.

Because they had limited numbers, they initially intended to only arm their assault troops with them, so that the front line of the squad would be a MG-42 on point, and several MkB42's on his shoulders.

"The German squad had two main formations while moving on the battlefield. When advancing in the Reihe, or single file, formation, the commander took the lead, followed by the machine gunner and his assistants, then riflemen, with the assistant squad commander moving on the rear."

"A Reihe could easily be formed into Sch

Let's not forget that it's NOT just 6 germans with the MKB-42. It's up to 6 germans PLUS anyone else who has picked it up. So there could be several more floating around. It could be a russian picking it up, but it'll generally be easier for a fellow german to pick it up off a fallen soldier.

Certainly, whenever I have the opportunity to, I pickup either an MP40 or MKB-42 as a backup - most commonly on Commisars House.

It IS historically accurate. They used it in Stalingrad, nuff said only whiners like to whine.

Ugh...

The Gun that wasn't field tested until mid 1943 (Too late for Stalingrad) by the 5.SS Wiking (SS, Not in Stalingrad).

Yeh look Stalingrad where all that close combat fighting is, let's throw in our amazing new prototype weapon where the Russians can easily get their hands on it...

I think most of us can agree, however, that there are too many MKBs around. When you give the entire assault class access to them, they're going to pick it everytime.

Are they? Only if they are noobs. It's a general purpose noob weapon, not an elite specialist weapon. It does everything OK, but nothing perfect, unlike all the other weapons. I would take the MP-40 over the MkB simply because if I am going assault, I will be assaulting, so I don't need more than 100m range, and the smaller size makes it more agile.

Why? After this:

I felt guilty the entire time and barely use it now. Its accuracy seems a bit much as well as its stopping power. I was dropping people in the tower and elevator windows with ease. Towards the end of the game, we got into the MKB OP conversation - especially on how many are present in the game.

Note who was on my team, towards the bottom. Hopefully he took notice.
