Weapon Combinations

What he meant was, you shouldn't have enough room for a machete, what with the LAW weighing in at 14 units.

If I'm Medic and there's a (competent) Sharpshooter on the team, I won't go for the Crossbow, but instead get a Lever Action + Dual 9mm's. It's not so bad, but I haven't thoroughly play-tested it.

I hate the AK-47 with a passion, what with it's crappy sight, massive recoil and lackluster damage. So I make it a point to replace it with bullpup whenever possible.

When I play commando I usually go:

Spawn with AK-47
Buy bullpup after round 1, use as primary gun
Get armour
Save up enough money for SCAR, sell AK-47, buy SCAR

Even though I hate it, you need two assault rifle worth of ammo for suicidal. So I'll end up having to use the AK-47 after bullpup runs out and before I can afford a SCAR.

ah i see. well i have a special tactic i use. i buy the LAW, and then i drop it at the place where im going to hold out, then i carry around the machete with me. when things get to crazy i drop the machete, pick up the LAW and use that really quick, then drop it and pick back up the machete.

personally, I use Xbow and medic-gun and katana like most other medics......

I see everyone else only posting one perk, so....

Commando: Bullpup/AK47, then AK47/SCAR. AK for main wep, SCAR for the big fellas.

Sharpshooter: Handcannon/Crossbow. I'll spawn with the crossbow, switch to 9mm, use that, then buy Handcannon, then armour. Then Handcannon for the whole game, Crossbow for scrakes/Fleshpounds,

Support: Shotgun/Hunting Shotgun. The shotgun has the general capacity to take down most things, with the HS as backup. If SHTF i empty my shotty and pull out the HS. Tactic for scrakes: make sure you have enough room. proceed to empty shotgun into scrake until he charges. whip out HS and altfire into upper chest when he's about to hit you. works every time.

demo: M79/M32. it speaks for itself. except against scrakes, then i get an AK if i can.

Medic: MP7M/Xbow. generally the best and most easily attainable combo. the skills with both weapons are similar, being similar. I can predict the flightpath of the dart/bolt and hit my target, providing they aren't jumping around like retards. (ahem)

Firebug: flamethrower. That's all you can get with killstealers.

Berserker: katana. why would you want anything else?

This is what I do every game (im trying to level my support)

. first round i player as perk 6 firebug (note: i then only kill stuff with ma knife and use the flamer in emergencies)

. after that i sell flamer and select support, this allows me to buy HS and normal and have body armour the 2nd wave

. if i join after wave 4 i select SS first to stave of scrakes and FP. ( i do NOT go nubby with the m14, EVA)

. for the boss i get full ammo of HS and normal shotty, i usually have enough to buy a LAW.

. once the law is out (and by that time patty is almost dead) i pull out normal for mid range attacks and when he comes close BAM HS spank.


you probably have noticed that i dont use the AA12, i simply dont like the gun, makes you wanna kill steal alot and involves alot less skill than the HS

Granted the AK kicks more than the bullpup but its damage is signfiicantly more. At Lv. 6 commando the recoil isn't that bad and when firing from the hip its a head popping machine. I'm just confused how you say the AK has lackluster damage and then choose a weapon that does even less damage.

Commando lvl6: Bullpup + SCAR
I switch around the whole time, shoot the scar untill the mag is empty and then shoot the remaining specimen with the bullpup or the other way around, depends on the specimen attacking and the amount. Then I fall back and reload both weapons.

Except in suicidal difficulty, I use the AK and Scar.

And if I have the money, I buy a katana for scrakes.

if i added that up properly. I'm not lv6 in support yet but thats gotta be a mean aresenal just don't get caught shooting the m79 with enemies coming close as you can't avoid the reload.

For Commando:
AK47 + Scar + Katana
Don't know why anyone would use the bullpup beyond lv5/suicidal

Firebug:
Flamethrower + dualies, like there's much choice

Demoman:
m32 + dualies + pipes

Bullpup does a lot less damage that's true, but with level 6 commando it's pretty much pewpewpew laser gun. I can shave off all the heads of a crowd in no time with it. AK-47 with it's iron sight and almost SCAR like recoil on the other hand I find much harder to headshot with in rapid succession.

I think level 6 support have 24 weight, but one weight box is taken up by default gear so you only have 23 available?

In anyway event I feel I never use more than 2 guns in a round, even if they were both shotguns (and thus low ammo). It's going to be pretty hard to justify 5 different weapons.

Well, usually this is my load out for when I play each perk.

Medic - MP7 Medic Gun + Xbow

Support Specialist - AA12 + Shotgun

Sharpshooter - Xbow + Handcannon (Yes only one, I dont like using dualies)

Commando - SCAR + AK47 (I usually use single fire on the SCAR, and auto on the AK for 'osnap' moments)

Berserker - Katana + Handcannon

Firebug - Flamethrower + Handcannon

Demolitions - M32 + M79 + However many Pipebombs I can toss

I realize you loose damage with only a single Handcannon, but with only one you can shoot more accurately and conserve ammunition, which comes in handy in harder difficulties like hard and suicidal.
