Opinions can be wrong?
I learn something new everyday.
Your only possible option is Vermont.
It's a very liberal state, and I believe gay marriage is legal there. It is also, however, and quite uniquely for such a liberal place, very relaxed on the issue of firearms. So long as you're legally able to own a gun, you can carry - openly or concealed - without a permit there. The disqualifiers are basically the federal disqualifiers - restraining orders, domestic violence conviction, drug addiction, immigration status, felony conviction, and having previously been adjudicated as mentally incompetant.
Well good luck to the kid at school. You people, merely those who simply disvoted my post or replied with "Your opinion is wrong"(nice antithesis there), need a reality check. If a kid would have to tell his classmates that he has two fathers he'd get bullied into suicide. We're not living in Utopia unfortunately. So if you seriously think society is ready for that(in general, not just one in 100.000) you simply have no idea of the practical reality that there is. I'm dealing with 3-15 year olds everyday in my job and know how they're thinking. And in europe you don't even have the stereotypical jocks vs nerds syndrom.Just tell that to my cousin and her partner, who've adopted a child and gave it a loving home (cuz otherwise it would have been dead).
And of course there are exceptions like PUTZ' lesbian cousin, but exceptions prove the rule.
So if you seriously think society is ready for that(in general, not just one in 100.000) you simply have no idea of the practical reality that there is.
Besides that birth rates have been decreasing drastically over the last years/few decades. So instead of talking about gay marriage the primary focus should be on making marriage combined with getting kids more attractive again. .

Good idea. I propose give something like a medal to women for every fourth child she births... oh wait, somebody has thought of that already!Besides that birth rates have been decreasing drastically over the last years/few decades. Nowhere did I say that lesbians would make for better parents than gays, I was merely taking the example PUTZ gave(his lesbian cousin) as an example for homosexual parenthood. The way you mistake this however also shows you the reason as to why I won't bother replying to any more of this. You think you know it all and are at the top of evolution with your limitless oh-so open-mindedness when in fact it's just your opinion. Calling everyone else(2004 poll in austria showed that 41% are against, 29% pro, 29% don't care), who doesn't think the same way as you do a cellar nazi is typical, especcially in countries like austria.Hypocracy much? Why is it okay to have two mothers, but not to have two fathers, other than that lesbian porn is more wankable to straight people than male gay porn?
And C_Gibby, I don't understand at all how you could feel offended. I clearly didn't mean to and I don't see what in particular got you upset. It is simply my opinion that homosexual parents, no matter if gay or lesbian, should not be allowed to adopt children,

It's a matter of attitude. I can very much accept different opinions on this matter, vice versa however there is an incredible arrogance that suggests exactly what I said. So stop turning everything around, I'm not the one who's implacting your opinion matters less.None of us ever said we know it all, let alone think we know it all. If you're allowed to make presumptions out of implications why can't we, after all this is supposed to be a discussion right? Or is it because we with our lowly opinions cannot understand the great matter at hand as your valid experiences with a tiny fart of the entire world's population in some remote location in a planet called earth is far more divine than anyone else?
Before you yell anything about putting words in your mouth it's called presumption. Something you've done in this thread as well, like it or not.

Anyway, after today, I have to say finding a job is hard as hell. I've spent the day in various job centres and I've been scouring the high street with no results. However, there's volunteer police work I could have a look at...

It is simply my opinion that homosexual parents, no matter if gay or lesbian, should not be allowed to adopt children, because you are simply not doing the child a favor because it's already pre-determined to get bullied by others for something that is not his fault at all(and it wouldn't be anyone's "fault", don't get me wrong there).
